Remarks :
I had heard much about this college since I was in my B.Sc. The college has good placement criteria with top recruiters. I sat for MAT (entrance) before admission. The eligibility criteria for RIT Roorkee is quite simple. The candidate must complete 3 years of bachelor's degree and must attain 50% (min) during the qualifying exam followed by an interview. You will be selected based on those criteria.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Having a degree in MBA lets you associate with bigger brands and in worthwhile positions. As I was a student in Computer Science, I preferred to take-up the MBA course in Information Technology. I have a keen interest in this field, therefore I continued with this. The faculty of our department is the best I have ever come across. They are knowledgeable and helps you with the projects and curriculum. The semesters can be passed easily if you are following the classes regularly.
Internships Opportunities :
For IT students facility of the Internet is necessary and RIT provides that in the computer centre as well as WIFI connection in the hostel premises. The final year students are offered internships in various companies which will help them gain industrial and professional experience. There are regular workshops and projects and seminars conducted by the faculty along with Industrial visits.
Placement Experience :
The students are eligible for campus placement from the last semester. 90% of students get guaranteed placements. But, all depends on the percentage obtained and interview by the student. The average package for the recruiting companies is 6-12 LPA.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Studying MBA is quite expensive in any institution you go to. But I can say that RIT Roorkee has an affordable fee structure even for the MBA courses. This is one of the major reasons why I chose this college. The fees vary from 3.5-4 Lacs for the 2 years program. You can get easy loan facilities from a nationalized bank with basic criteria and parents as co-borrowers. Scholarships are given to certain students who attain a good percentage. The recruitments are according to your percentage and interviews.
Campus Life :
RIT promotes extra curriculums to increase a friendly environment and better learning opportunities. We could participate in various sports and dance or music according to our interests. RIT Library has a huge number of books available that includes journals, magazines. Students can practice the previous year's papers and academic books and also can read other kinds of books related to General Knowledge, current affairs and fiction. We had 5 clubs in RIT. Group members participate in various activities and functions.
Hostel Facilities :
Our hostel had a goof space, separate dining, space for indoor games and extracurricular activities. The food given to us was ok. The hostel charge was depended on the room you choose (AC or Non-AC). You can say it will vary from 70-95k along with mess charges. One time refundable hostel security charge is taken. The uniform provided to the new students is free of cost.
Interview Experience :
The admission process is not very complicated. First of all, they will optimize your graduation and MAT/CAT score. After registration, you will go through an interview. You will be asked some basic questions about your graduation level or similar to MAT/CAT questions. After the final selection, you will be required to pay the registration fees and present your original documents for verification.
