Remarks
Good aspects - location, good brand name, good placements record, small batch size of PGPM, good faculty, great alum network Bad aspects - admin issues, academic focus. Admission process- CAT exam, shortlist on the basis of CAT, WAT, GD and PI. My interview was held in the 1st - 2nd week of February. The interview involved 15mins WAT (written ability test). immediately followed by a 15mins GD on the same topic. The topic was on general awareness. Then the PI was held. I preferred MDI G over IIM Indore due to the bigger batch size of IIM I and that they have placement issues. Website used-pagalguy
Course Curriculum Overview
PGPM felt like a good choice as I wanted to pursue marketing in my career. Good feedback from alums. Good faculty. MDI G has a good faculty to students ratio and is very esteemed and industry relevant. The cases and theory teaching methodology is very interesting and useful to us. The exams were held in a timely manner and the difficulty depended on the faculty and was usually not very tough to go through if students had paid attention in the class.
Internships Opportunities
There were many companies like BCG, Nestle, HUL, GSK, Amazon, Flipkart, Phonepe offering internships at our organisation. Roles offered ranged from Sales and marketing, finance, consulting, product management, general management, operations etc.
Placement Experience
The placement of our college is very decent with companies like Deloitte, Flipkart, Nestle, Amazon, GS etc. sending offers to the students last year. The highest package would be around 40LPA and average would be around 20LPA. There is 100% placement of the PGP batch. We are eligible for the placements in the final semester of our course.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees were generally accepted to be a little on the higher side considering most of the students took a students loan for the course and had to repay it in their career. I got a summer internship with GSK Pharma with a good stipend and a decent experience.
Campus Life
The campus life is very nice. The campus itself is lush, green and open and has few sports fields. The open campus concept allowed us to roam around the campus to clear our heads at any time in the day or night. The fests at campus also never end. We have imperium, Illumina as the more 'fun' fests and delphique, and other conclaves as the more academic learning events. There is ample opportunity to participate in dance, music, drama, philanthropy, research, competition, live projects on the campus. There are many clubs and committees that are solely run by students such as Impulse, Opsession, Marquity etc which is for the campus students.
Hostel Facilities
We had a twin sharing room, with attached washrooms. Facilities were very nice with timely housekeeping services and other utilities. Mess facility was available for the whole PGP batch where everyone came to eat on the ground or first floor and the food quality was also good. They had varieties of cuisines such as south Indian, Chinese, non-veg etc in their weekly menu. The registration and other process was also quite hassled free and was done on the day of joining.
Interview Experience
Yes, there was a WAT followed by a GD. The topic was on the lines of the BJP government's measures and steps. Are they good or bad? This was in 2019. So the recent changes and updates. The interview was mainly around my profile, introduction, why MBA, why MDI Gurgaon and why marketing. I prepared my introduction well, prepared questions about the profile, engineering, MBA and MDI Gurgaon. Prepared them in the form of a story that can logically make sense. Also went through the current affairs and my opinion of everything that I read.
