Remarks :

if you want good education for cse, jec is good, but no campus life and you get bored here easily.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course is as per the university guideline, I but the overall courses could have been better curated for the cse department. in some places instead of teaching subject of different stream, like physics, I mechanics, drawing and chemistry, etc. if we are taught cse related subject from the first year of college we could have enough time to learn some languages and library's in depth.

Class Size : 65Course Fees : INR 120000 per year

Placement Experience :

The placement in college is fair enough but since the college is in remote area, not all high end companies go there to take students. you still many students got placed in oil and other reputed companies. you this year seven or eight students from cse got placed in a company in Japan. do overall placement is good. and one more good thing about jec is hod's are very supportive of pursuing different internships in both domestic and foreign companies so no issues from college if such internship are availed.

College Events :

there's 1. technofest this fest is held in about September and comprises of all the different kind of hackathon and competition in web designing and much more. there's robot fight competition, cs go competition and much more. 2. phoenix. the main cultural programme in jec. the hype, the songs, the plays. this is to never miss. 3. webinars

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fees are affordable since it is a government funded institution. it is good and affordable for most student and there's also scholarship availabe for below poverty line students. it costs around 13000 per semester if engineering in any branch including fest fees and exam fees.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

the scholarship is the same ishan Uday and minority scholarship that's available throughout the country and it's just advertised in the notice board. you students should actively apply and get the scholarship forms all signed be the principal. I didn't apply for scholarship. the eligibility is the person should belong to bpl and for minority you should belong to a minority group.

Campus Life :

If you want to have a good campus life, do not take admission in jec. take admission in Assam engineering college. in term of campus life, there's no campus life. there is ample room for good campus design and parking facility but the authority seems not interested enough in making the campus tour-able. got the are potholes all over the campus, I cows in the campus, dogs inside classrooms, basically you go there, take the class, go to your pg. there's no campus to enjoy college life with friends.

Hostel Facilities :

I didn't opt for hostel but there is enough hostels to meet the total number of students. there are pgs available around the perimeter of the college and there are some not so expensive ones also there. average fees of such pg cost around 7000 with single or double rooms availabe. if anyone goes to Jorhat engineering college, I advice to buy water from shops and while washing head use those water to retain hair in head. the pg facility are good.

External Expense : Rs.7000 - Rs.10000

Alumni/Alumna :

the alumni network is somewhat sizable and there are some top level executive who are a part of jec alumni. they are helpful in providing career guidance.

Admission :

Wanted to be a skilled expert in computer science and engineering department. The entrance exam was Crack able. Got the desired college. after that entrance it was just merit list and admission. simple procedure. during admission process, candidate must be present at the admission hall or otherwise you miss the chance to be admitted to the college.

Faculty :

The number of faculties available is less than needed but the teachers that are available teaches very well. with very few (2 for example) exception, faculties are well accomplished in the subject matter and well prepared to teach us the subject. that makes the college more popular for cse students in Assam, after iit and nit.

Btech is the best course for engineer's. The curriculum prepares us well for real world applications or further academic pursuits. Cse branch is the best branch for improvement in the course . The frequency and timing of exams are 3 hours in end term exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have choose EE because it's have both core and it features so i believe that I will go for core but if the situation changes then accordingly i will shift. The curriculum is pretty good in this campus according to me that's why I have choose this course. I don't think I have enough thinking level to suggest about that. Before exam there should be some gap for studies purpose I mean to say classes should be off. And everything is good.

I love my college and I don't think that their is any change required

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I like it.There is no any specific aspects regarding my subject. From class 12 onwards I like my subject economics and so I persude this course. The timing of our exams are ok . But according to difficulty level it is moderate. I don't think that there is any area that need to be improved regarding the course.

Life At IIT Guwahati

Placement Experience:

Placement drives are held in December of every year for the students who complete their 7th semester.
