BITS Goa

Remarks :

It's an amazing place to be for overall development. You're your own master and responsible for all your choices. The profeesors motivate you, and your peers push you to be the best you can be.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Course curriculum here is extremely good, it's detailed and everything is taught in depth. The labs are meant to go hand in hand with your theory classes. Each semester has two major exams, your mid sems and your end semester exams. Grading is done relative to the performance of all the students.

Placement Experience :

The Placement structure of BITS in general is quite good, it's centralised for all the three indian campuses. We have some major companies like microsoft who come to hire students from our college. Students are also provided with internships at the end of their second year, and in their fourth year.

College Events :

We have three major fests-Waves which is the cultural fest, Quark which is the technical gest and Spree which is the sports fest. All the three fests are extremely well known and looked forward to by everyone. Besides this the various departments keep something or the other happening in campus.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Our fee structure is quite expensive, each semester fee comes up close to 2 lakhs (excluding your hostel and mess fees), I don't the facility they provide matches up to the fee we pay. At least not in BITS Goa. There are very few scholarship schemes too.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I didn't opt for any loan or scholarship. However, the college provides scholarship to the top three performers in the batch and also has merit cum need scholarships.

Campus Life :

My batch has 1100 students and close to a 100 girls only. The gender ratio has always been an issue. BITS has some amazing reasources for people into extracurricular activities and they even encourage their students to take part in this. The football field is one of the best in the state.

Hostel Facilities :

Yes, I have. In your first year it's a twin sharing room but from your second year onwards everyone gets their personal room. The hostels are quite good and maintained well. The hostel fees amount to 40000 per sem.

Alumni/Alumna :

The senior students and the alumni network are extremely warm and helpful. They're always there for their juniors in any way wanted, and make sure that no one feels left out or has to face any hardship alone in college.

Admission :

You need to give BITSAT to apply any one of their four institutions. Once the bitsat cutoffs are out, you can decide your preference order. There's also a minimum of 75% criteria for your boards. Once you've filled in your preference order, they'll keep updating you on which institution and course you can currently get. Finally you need to go there and fulfill the admission procedures.

Faculty :

I think the faculty honestly depends on which course you're talking about. Every department has some amazing profeesors who've had a lot of experience in their field, they're main goal is to inspire you and motivate you to further deepen your knowledge on the course.

Course Curriculum Overview:

So far the course is good but it does get difficult if you don't study at least one hour a day , you have to study and make notes yourself so that you can be prepared and answer all the questions and help the other students who have doubts in whatever they want

IIT Goa offers campus placements to its students. Students become eligible for campus placements in their final year of study, i.e., in the 7th or 8th semester. Several reputed companies visit IIT Goa for campus placements, including Amazon, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, IBM, Tata Steel, Larsen & Toubro, Adani Power, etc. Higher placements offer is of 1.2cr and average placement offers are16-25 lac per annum. The percentage of students getting placed during campus placements at IIT Goa is quite high, with around 90% of students getting placed every year. The remaining students generally opt for higher studies or pursue entrepreneurship. In case no campus placement is offered, students can explore other options for employability, such as applying for jobs through job portals, professional networking sites, or by directly contacting companies. They can also consider pursuing higher education or research in their field of interest or starting their own business.
