Remarks :
The good remark is it is a educational university and provide a platform for students to explore and increase their knowledge.and the bad part is the more plantation is needed although it has more than 6000 plantation already. the another bad part is that the construction work is still going on it should be rapidly completed.
Entrance Preview :
HPU Entrance, 37%. Admission here is easy and it is the best one and nearest to my home. The fee structure is also affordable for student like me.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The syllabus which we read in our course is very helpful in our future competitive exams like NET, JRF SET etc. The academic schedule is such that we have to give five exams for a single subject in a single semester, out of these five exams four will asses our final performance.
Internships Opportunities :
Yes, the companies which came are HDFC, indian Oil, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Reliance Communication, Snapdeal, Skoda, Videocon D2H, aircel, airtel, amagi, Aditiya Birla, anchor, etc, salary around 6000-50000 p.m.
Placement Experience :
Although there is not 100% placement, but the job opportunities are many more, as many companies comes in the search of talented worker. As the students have no experience, so the company offer firstly low packages, but these are increased later as per performance of worker.
College Events :
The event that is popularly celebrated in DAV university is DAV Ustav. in this function many celebrity comes for their film promotion, and a long series of event is going on during this large 3-5 days event. Maximum of the sports events are organised by the physical education department in the university and the teams for inter university also participated.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Fee structure is feasible, student have two payment option either by three installment for a year or by single installment for each semester. for M.Sc. Zoology currently student have to pay 111000 rupees only including examination fee out of which 5000 is refundable after completion of course.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The scholarship is provided for UG courses only and it is of 10000 for top 20% of students for one time only. the scholarship test fee is 200 per student.
Campus Life :
The majority of students are females. and by region the major part of student is from Himachal Pradesh. The extracurricular activities happens all along the year. there is not a single month when there is no activity. the labs needs to be developed. the sport area is good. debates happens rarely and overall experience is good.
Hostel Facilities :
Still the university is under construction so it has shortage of Hostel, so it hires some building for hostel and the food is good in day time only. we can't say that dinner is not good but as comparison to day it is not good.Although I am a day scholar but i heard these things from my friends the cheapest PG available here is of 3500.
Alumni/Alumna :
Yes seniors are helpful. every year there are freshers party by different departments for fresher students.
Exam Structure :
Exam structure is very good. in a single semester there are 3 surprise test, out of which 50% marks of 2 higher surprise test adds up for final.there is also a mid semester examination of 60 marks, whose 50% added in final. and the final examination is also of 50% weight-thage.
Faculty :
Overall Faculty of university is good. But still there is shortage of teachers. As the university is new and in current year there is large increase in new admission about 250%. Which is very good for the management. As the admission rate is higher so the new faculty is still joining. And honestly i can say that there is shortage of about 10% faculty.
