Remarks
So first of all, a question for you guys reading this. All those people who give Bitsat and get 50% Mark's and get BITS HYDERABAD ,Do you know what is the difference between BITS Pilani and BIT Mesra It's not the placement or the cafeteria, it's the mindset of the students. So for all who are downvoting the college because you can't drink here or booze here, you're right you can't. But if you want to study, it is EXCELLENT. We have about 4 fests each year, so there are cultural activities, invitation to Main campus for Bitotsav as well. students have aced national hackathons, and we have really good food as well. We are located just next to the airport in a halcyon and green milieu. Placements are better than Manipal (sighs) and better than NIT Patna, so if you are juxtaposing them, BIT Patna is a notch above NITP not just because of the BIT Mesra tag but because of the decent crowd. It is a GFTI, and only students with amazing Cv (this year, 10th, 12th and JEE) are admitted.
Course Curriculum Overview
Faculty members are helpful. There are about 300 students in a batch which is lesser than regular govt colleges. So it is like the crowd of private colleges but the perks of a govt college, it is really good. The crowd comprises students who have been good students throughout their lives, be it 10th l, 12th or JEE. This year they took admission on 10th and 12th basis because JEE Mains was uncertain. But afterwards, took admission on that basis as well.
Internships Opportunities
It offers internships if you can't find them on your own. They may not pay much, but they are able to fetch sufficient internships for almost all students.
Placement Experience
So you must have heard that "placements are bad and biased". Let me tell you; if you know how to code, you have a 90% chance of getting placed. And if you have a CGPA over 7, you will get placements equal to Mesra students, which is really good. Even core companies get moderate placements. I am honestly an GMAT prep student, so I don't intend on taking a job rn. But the placements are good( better yield than Manipal or VIT actually) if you know your game.
Fees and Financial Aid
Costs are a little high, I chose this college because my parents wanted me to stay in my hometown, Patna. So if you are financially unstable, you might face issues
Campus Life
There is Technika: the tech fest . Abhivyakti: cultural fest. Pakrida the games fest, and a drawing architecture fest I can't recall the name of. Of course you can go to Mesra if you wish to participate in Bitostav . Books and journals are well available in the libraries and canteen food is vivid an fulfilling. Mess food is not exceptional, but is more or less good. Sports are overly active ( something I dont like), but if you are athletic, you will have a great time. There are a number of coding clubs available and a very dynamic coding culture exists
Hostel Facilities
The hostels are a little small, but since the campus Is relatively new, it is better than Mesra( I have seen both) l. Hostel is compulsory for all, so you need to be fast while booking them or you get claustrophobic dormitories. Menu for mess is actually good, food is satiable. We have a cleaning facility also. There are 3 Boys hostels and 1 girls hostel.
