Remarks

The first thing that attracted my attention towards this college was the jurisdiction of Delhi University. The guidelines, syllabus and course structure were that of the top-notch colleges like SRCC. Along with this a brief study of the college highlighted the reputed faculty of the college which became another point of attraction. When I visited the college the student reps available as well as the infrastructure drew my attention. A huge and well-maintained auditorium, few air-conditioned classes, etc. The fact that the college was situated in Delhi also tipped the scales. Due to the presence of many institutes and bog companies, being introduced to the lifestyle provided exposure to the much desired metropolitan life. The courses available during admission were very vast and gave students an opportunity to learn about different subjects along with the core subjects. The curriculum offered some courses like tally and ms office free of cost which were not being offered everywhere.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course structure is very helpful. With a diversified spectrum and multiple options a person can learn a lot. In my course I had an opportunity to select a generic elective which could be any subject like sociology, literature. Plus the presence of aecc subjects like English and EVS also raises a general awareness. We were taken for an academic trip to the Aravali park for which the report had to be submitted. It was a great learning experience. The institute also provided some vocational courses like that of tally, ms office for future convenience. The subjects which are required for the degree are also there plus these additional courses give a holistic outlook. The faculty is quite helpful and well-reputed. With a combination of ad-hoc and professor for every subject, the students are given greater attention.

Internships Opportunities

Let's discuss, content writer INR 3000Umeed, a campus ambassador, no stipend.During the internship fair, a lot of companies and NGOs visit the college, and students can learn about them through brochures and sit for interviews. These organizations may then call the candidates for further assessment or select the candidate on the spot.

Placement Experience

2.5

The placement cell of the college is still in initial phases of development and the companies coming to the college are limited. Companies like Tata Power and Wipro visited the college offering profiles for different streams. Many startups also come to the college for placement. The entrepreneurship cell is also in infant stages. An app called chef in was launched by the alumni of Zakie Husain

College Events

3.5

There were multiple conventions held, with a number of fests and lectures. The management depended on the society organizing the event. Every course had a fest of their own plus a union fest. The arts and culture society also had their own fest which was always the most diverse fest of the college. In this fest, many team's competed against each other. Team's from different colleges we're invited and the winners were given amazing prizes. The course fests were not that huge in scale but they had their own attractions. Apart from these major fests there were many other events like gandi study circle, north east society's fest, kairali fest etc.

Campus Life

Half of the college is currently under construction but the new building will be soon completed. Due to this the sports facilities we're not that satisfactory but the team was taken to the ground in front of the college for practices. The college provides the students with an individual wifi password and ID which should be solely used for educational purposes. However, all the network services work fine within the campus. The library is moderate on size but has a huge collection of books for every course along with the services of the book bank. The auditorium is also average in size and well maintained. The computer labs and science labs are fully equipped. With multiple computer labs on the campus, the college is pretty well equipped. There are stationary and photo copy shops in the campus along with a nice canteen. The Jumma chat corner is the college attraction, serving fruit chats and chola kulcha.

Hostel Facilities

The college does not offer a hostel facility. The area in which the college is situated in a commercial area and the neighborhood has no boarding facilities. The nearest a person can find a pg is Laxmi Nagar or north campus area. However it's an easy commute as the metro stations are less than a km away from the college. The PGs cost around 10-12k a month including flooding and air conditioning.

Since it is open learning university..they couldn't give us time.. because the class also got started 1 month before exam...and teachers had to finish...the syllabus. But they don't really care about us. And syllabus I think is okay .. in Commerce. It is updated.

Placement Experience:

Campus placement is done in the 3rd year. The highest PPO given is 24,00,000 to auditing and taxation departments. Average package is about ?15,00,000 to ?18,00,000. Companies like Eay, KPMG and more visit our college for placement. Most students under the commerce department get offered internships. Other than this, the placement cell also actively keeps sending internship opportunities for students to enhance their profiles. I am an English honours student l, thus there is no placement option for me directly unless I take up options from the P-Cell. I have already interned at EY India, Gurgaon, as a forensics and risk management specialist( throigh personal referral). My knowledge (attained from DCAC) of research, report and article writing were used adequately.

Placement Experience:

There was no such provision of jobs or fixed placements however there was a placement cell which was quite active and hence there were opportunities for placements by contacting the cell and placement fairs were also organised that were open for all, but not many opportunities were given. The companies that took candidates were economic times, TOI etc paying a very basic fresher stipend of 10-15k. Very few students actually got to know about these placement drives hence the placements weren't great also not many companies came on campus.
