I took IIT JEE, AIEEE and BITSAT. I was not able to clear the IIT JEE. However, I got a rank of 13000 in AIEEE which enabled me to take the admission in the prestigious NIT Jamshedpur. NIT Jamshedpur is a college of national repute .Moreover, the college has a decent curriculum and the placement is also pretty good.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum was good. Every semester we had 5 papers. From the 3rd Semester onward, we had specialized subjects of Computer Science. Our college allowed us to choose Electives.
Internships Opportunities
We had to apply for the internships by ourselves. Very less companies visited our campus for the internship offers. The companies that visited us for Internship paid around 30000 per month.
Placement Experience
Placement is decent. Most of the branches like Computer Science, Electronics And Communication and Mechanical Engineering had more than 90% placement. The highest package offered was around 38 lakhs per annum.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Being a Government college, the fee structure is feasible. Our total fee (including the hostel and mess fee) was 44000 per Semester. Any other private college would charge not less than 1 lakh a Semester. Moreover, there was a scholarship for meritorious students who were financially weak.
Fees and Financial Aid
There was a scholarship called O.P. Jindal Scholarship which was given to the meritorious students of every branch. Moreover, there was MOMA Scholarship given by the central Government to financially less privileged students of minority. Further there were many scholarships for SC/ ST Students by the central and State Government.
Exam Structure
The exam structure ,as it appeared to me, was pretty chilled out. We used to have 5 papers in a Semester. In a single day, we had 2 papers . So, our exam would get over in 2 and a half days. It was quite relieving. We used to have 2-3 labs a week which was not a thing to be worried about.
Faculty
This was the area where our college lacked a bit. In initial days, we had very less professors. However, in the 3rd year many professors were recruited and this shortage was gone. The quality of teaching was average.
