Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is elaborate and analytical. Just reading won't do- you have to read the text and come up with deductions of your own. At the end of the 4 semesters, you are required to submit a thesis on a particular topic, whose grades will decide your final result.
Placement Experience :
The placement cell in college is quite active. However, of the 25 students in my batch, most wanted to pursue further studies. The college does however, hold workshops and arrange internships so that we can learn some skills which are required in field-related jobs.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
I did my M.A in English from Nalbari College and at the time of admission, the fees was Rs 29,000 per annum for this course. So for a total of 4 semesters, the fees came to Rs 58,000, barring hostel charges.
Campus Life :
The labs and the library are extremely well-equipped! The library has Internet available, photocopy services, helpful e-resources, and even a functional Network Resource Centre, for you to conduct research at peace for your papers or thesis!
Hostel Facilities :
Yes, I did opt for the hostel and I must tell you, it exceeded my expectations! The hostel complex is huge and has a lounge, dining room and even wifi! There is also first-aid available and a prompt on-call doctor!
Admission :
The admission procedure is fairly simple. You have to send in your application form with your board marks. Then the institute prepares a merit list keeping a variety of factors in mind. I chose this college because I live nearby and the Arts and Science departments are quite prestigious.
Faculty :
The student to faculty ratio is not very high and hence, all students get personal attention from the teachers. You can always go up to them for help and they will make dedicate extra time to alleviate your problems.
