Remarks :
Overall, the college is okay. Though at times management does stupid things, in the end everything works out properly.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Curriculum is based on what's followed by the IITs and NITs, so we always study whatever students in tier A college learn. Courses are very well structured, and are finished within the semester's time. The college provides many optional courses in the fields of research and any branch can opt for any type of course, there's no restriction.
Placement Experience :
Many companies visit our college. Dell, Infosys, Tata, Ernst Young, Adobe to name a few. Dell usually provides internship to 3rd year students, but mostly Students opt for offcampus internships and have worked for larger companies like VISA and Microsoft.
College Events :
Our biggest event is known as Advaita, the annual Tech fest. Participation is huge, students from all over the state come to witness this grand event. Many well known celebrities are invited to perform. Apart from this, the college hosts multiple events throughout the year, be it sports event, a literature event or a natak/drama performance.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Fees are similar to NIT and IITs and is generally same for all students in a particular year, except for those who choose a different hostel. You can pay by both online and through DD or cheques. No additional fees is required for admission. The college provides a full teardown of fees Structure, even before paying the fees.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
I didn't opt for any scholarships. The college does provide notification about such scholarships from time to time.
Campus Life :
Gender ratio is what you would expect in an engineering college. Low. Since admission is done by JoSSA, students from all over India are admitted into the college, even some international students are also there. College does workshops from time to time about new technologies like blockchain, robotics and programming stuff. As far as I know, there's no gender/race/religious discrimination at the college grounds.
Hostel Facilities :
Yes. Hostel rooms are pretty large, though not in good condition. There are options to choose like sharing between 3, 2 or even staying in a single room. Hostel seats are enough to accommodate all students.
Alumni/Alumna :
Some alumni actually came and spoke about their experiences in larger companies, how we should prepare for interviews and what kinds of internships to avail. We can contact most of them on LinkedIn, and they're super helpful.
Admission :
Admission into the college is done by JOSSA, so one needs to clear JEE Mains with a good rank. After JEE advanced results are declared, every Mains qualified student is allowed to sit for counselling of seats. You are given an online form to fill, where you can select your favorite branch in your favorite college, in descending order of priority. Once you get the college in the counseling, admission process is pretty much painless.
Faculty :
Most of the teachers are very well experienced and are alumni of very prominent colleges of India and abroad, including IIT-KGP, IIT-BHU, IISC Banglore and even Harvard University. Many other professors have actually worked on the government projects too. So overall, faculty is well experienced and qualified to teach us.
