Mechanical Engineer

Remarks :

They are not bothered of post graduate students their main focus on undergraduate student's teaching and placements.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The Course Curriculum is good for few of the subjects taught while its fair for other subjects whose professors are not much experienced and lean. Exam structure is monotonous and since its conducted and assessment is done by the faculty itself, being autonomous college, hence not much challenging as far as few course are concerned depending on the professors. Even the project guides are assigned randomly. Few of them are guides just for name sake. Its all up to your luck if you get an opportunity to do project under any experienced professor who provides timely guidance.

Placement Experience :

For Undergraduates its a heaven for getting placed in globally reputed organisations like google, yahoo, citi group to name a few. It has collaboration with premium research institute like BARC, L&T etc. But for postgraduates the scenario is opposite and even after post graduation the struggle to find a decent job in industry may not end

College Events :

Technovanza (Its a techfest organized every year in the month of december- january which includes robotics events, quiz, poster & paper presentations),Pratibimb VJTI 2018 (Cultural event organised in campus auditorium itself in presence of celebrities from different realms). Sthapatya 19 (Technical, Youth Conclave, for strat up and entrepreneurship development)

Fee Structure And Facilities :

One of the most affordable engineering college in India since its a autonomous, accredited and government aided college. It comes under regional college category where funding is taken care by the government directly. It focuses on higher education at cheap cost under TEQIP and other government schemes

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

No. But while pursuing post graduation we were provided stipend of 12500 rs per month by DTE for those who were GATE qualified.

Campus Life :

Campus life is good, students are given freedom to participate in all technical events like Baja, Supra and its easy to avail sponsorship from reputed automobile and other field organisations which supports overall development of the student by gaining practical experience at early stage of their career also adds weight age to their resume.

Hostel Facilities :

NO, since I was a local candidate there was no need of hostel facility and it was mostly reserved for undergraduate students. I came to know about the hostel facility from one of my undergraduate friend. According to him the hostel facility is good with all amenities provided at affordable rates but room allotment is based on merit.

Alumni/Alumna :

Alumni has maintained a strong connections with all students and this makes it as a highly recommended college for campus recruitment and for entrepreneurship development. Also its easy to get funding & guidance for startups.

Admission :

After graduation one has to appear for GATE Exam then on qualifying the exam we can apply for post graduation via centralized Common Admission Procedure CAP which carries rounds of admission process.Students are sorted as per their marks in GATE exam in descending order and are assigned ranking based on which they are allotted the college from the preferred list of colleges to which the student wish to take admission. The preferred list includes names of all those colleges where he wish to pursue his post graduation max 20 names are allowed in preferred list. CAP rounds (CAP round I, II, III and IV) will be conducted by computerized allotment. The allotment of seats will be based on options entered by the candidate, merit number and availability of seats. Applicants can login to check the seat allotment list at dtemaharashtra.gov.in.

Faculty :

Fairly well. Most of the subjects are not taught in required depth with few exceptions whose concerned professors are experienced & passionate. They put all their efforts and interest to convey knowledge to the post graduate students Few other professors who are newly recruited don't take lectures seriously as expected as they believe that teaching again to already graduated students make no sense which is bit disappointing as far as the hype & reputation of the college is concerned.

Admission:

Admission happens through the gate exam merit list. the gate is an exam conducted by old IITs each year. where around 8 lac students appear for the exam out of which only 16% could clear the exam. in that most, top ranks get admission in IIT through the gate. top 1% of all people who give exams mostly get admitted in the IIT Bombay.
