Remarks :

Its Asia's first women's college and getting into this institution isnt easy. The college has a great faculty, good reputation, infrastructure, no politics and also economics and english are the best departments in our college

Course Curriculum Overview :

We are the last batch under University of Calcutta to have this old syllabus which isnt as old as vast. In our mode of session we didnt get a lot of practical exposure but the new system (CBCS) provides the students with a lot of practical knowledge and they also get to work on or with them. Moreover the syllabus too has been reduced and the marking pattern has been improved. Coming to my college, the faculty is very helpful and they know their part very well. Moreover the student teacher ratio is well balanced in every department. Faculty members are Satarupa Bandhopadhay (HoD), Maitri Ghosh, Dipyaman Pal, Suranjana Dasgupta

Course Fees : INR 5000 per year

Placement Experience :

A lot of companies visit the campus and all the students of final year are allowed to sit for the interview. The alumni is very influential which draws in good companies to hire students from our college. Though the process of hiring is totally just, there has been stances where the professors have helped certain poor students get jobs

College Events :

The annual cultural fest, Aalap, is organized by the students' committee under the supervision of the college convener. Its a huge fest with few thousand footfall every year. The college also organizes intra college competitions. One can participate in events of other colleges too

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The college offers a number of concessions and offers to all students fulfilling the criterion. The college also makes sure that all the students can avail the facilities provided by the state govt. Also there has been times when the teaching staff has helped their students personally

Campus Life :

The college has a total of 6 buildings, a separate central library and a separate auditorium. Each department has its own departmental library and both not only have every book one would need for their course but also a lot more and magazines to update oneself. Bethune is the only college which has both B.Sc and B.A in Psychology and two annex buildings. The science building has multiple labs for each subject and there r separate computer labs for hons and non hons students

I selected this course because I am naturally interested in computer science and moreover computer science is a very good course . The curriculum is very holistic and covers all necessary topics . The course could more practical than theory is based this would be my suggestion.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My teachers suggest me to take Chemistry honours. And I also wanted to become a scientist from my childhood. I also love to do experiment. So I choose this cource. I heard that here teachers are very good. So I joined this institute. The curriculum prepares me very good to step in real world. There are no such advice to improve, all is previously improved. There are total 6 semesters in our cource. Per year 4 exams are held, 2 mid-sem exams and 2 end-sem exams i.e. all year 4exams are held. The exams are too tough and few common questions we can find.

I have choosen this course because I was interested in it. Nd the faculties of this department is also good. All the professors of our department are PhD qualified and also researching on some field now also. They are quite frankly and helpful also. Remarks:

This is the Alipore Campus of Calcutta University of Home Science Department. This place is so beautiful in the middle of the city. The campus is full of greenery and the natural beauty of the campus is awesome. The friends,the professors, the scholars are too good to us. Every seniors are so helpful. I am in love with this college.

Remarks:

The college provides a student-friendly atmosphere. The college library is worth mentioning. The entire college premise consists of three buildings and they are separated by roads. This is quite disturbing since it takes time to attend general classes after attending honors class in a separate building.
