The college provide a perfect environment for students to achieve what they want.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The curriculum is not so upto date, recent language and technologies are not in the syllabus. But many clubs are maintained in the college for different technologies in which seniors take classes and make us aware. There classes are very helpful for the placement perspective. Industrial seminar is organised for learning and gaining knowledge.
Placement Experience :
The companies start recruitments at the start of last year i.e 3rd year in my course. There are a lot of companies which visit our campus with a decent package. The procedure mostly is like: First a coding competition is taken. Students are shortlisted on its basis followed by several interviews. Companies visit our campus in second last year for internships. The procedure is same as that of placement and a student selected is required to join the company for 2 month internship before his/her last year begins. PPO is also provided according to their work.
College Events :
There is an technical event named Avishkar which is organised in our college. Coding, Developing, electronics etc competitions are organised for each branch students. Students from different colleges take part in these competitions which help us to compete with students outside our college. A Cultural event names CULRAV is organised. Our college not only focus on studies but a healthy competition of cultural events is also organised. Dance, Singing, Spandan i.e fashion walk, Poetry etc are part of this event. Different celebrities are invited for the event, making it fun. Participants from different part of india gather together in this event.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
During counseling an amount of 10k is to paid which is then adjusted in the college fee structure. No extra fee is charged for anything. Approx 40k is the fee for each semester with 20k as extra charge for mess paid each semester. The fees is transparent and complete breakdown is available by the college. The fees can be paid thourough challan, DD or online mode there is no difficulties in any facilities provided by the college.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Yes scholarships are provided in the college. There are several scholarships provided in our college for minorities, according to incomes, grades, state scholarships and many more. The process is you beed to fill some forms and provide documents for verification if all went well the amount will be transferred to you account directly else you can apply next year again. Different scholarships provide different amount and it is not fixed.
Campus Life :
In my course the gender ratio is 1:2. The campus life is not very exciting as there is not much to do. But if you join several clubs then you can rather enjoy it. Sports team are present in our college for different sports which represent us in many sports event in other colleges.
Hostel Facilities :
The college have sufficient hostels for their students. Every student is provided a hostel. There is no need for PG. The hostels are clean and well maintained but the mess food is not that upto taste.
Alumni/Alumna :
The alumni of ohour branch help us with their interview experience. Our seniors conduct special classes for letting us know what is imp on the basis of placement.
Admission :
I am a student of MCA in MNNIT. I did BSc and was willing to go in the line of computers. MCA is the best option in such case. There is an entrance exam NIMCET which is an all India exam for getting admissions in different NITs. There are a total of 10 NITs which offer MCA as one of their course. Only the top rankers are able to get admission in their choice of colleges. MNNIT is ranked 4th in the all the NITs and its a privilege to be studying here. Always heard about the computer background of MNNIT. And yes its true. MNNIT is considered on ethe best colleges for cs students. The provide proper exposures and facilities with the help of which a student can grow. So I chose MNNIT over any other NITs. NIT trichy and NIT surathkal are the first two in the rank list. For applying in NIMCET, its form gers available in feb and the exam is mostly conducted on the last sunday of may. There are 120 questions in the exam with different markings. First 50 questions are from Mathematics and are of 12 marks each with 4 negative for each wrong answer. Then comes Logical Reasoning from 51-90 ie 40 questions. Each ques is of 6 marks and a wrong answer costs 1.5 marks. Then comes Computer Awarness from 91- 100 i.e. 10 questions each of 8 marks and a wrong answer costs 2 marks each. Then comes English from 101-120 i.e 20 questions of 4 marks each and 1 marks for wrong answers. The result of the exam is shown in JUNE and the ranks are displayed. Then according to ranks candidates are requested to fill their preferences of colleges and counselling is done.
Faculty :
The lectures are mostly PhD in their respective subjects. We have approx 5-6 lecturers in each sem depending upon the number of subjects. Also guest faculty is provided for teaching us who works under a head professor. There are several different guest faculties which help us in our lab classes. They try to help us in the class in everyway possible. But the labs are never left in just their hands our head professors always visit and analysis our work.
