Remarks :

One of the best colleges in India I would say. Though the management of the hospital could be a little better, I would love to say that it still is the best. The patient load is a lot as it is the highest centre of referral in Assam. Patients come in from all over the No,rth east and we get to learn a lot. The fee structure is affordable for all walks of life and also the stipend for the interns and post graduate trainees is really good.

Course Curriculum Overview :

GMCH is one of the best medical colleges in India and has one of the best facilities infrastructure wise. You’ll also get very good faculties and patient exposure from all over No,rtheast for building clinical knowledge GMCH is also known for very skilled doctors in all fields and patients come from all over the northeast especially for the treatment being cheap and affordable and also because the best doctors are in this hospital.

Placement Experience :

Internship available for 1 year and you’ll get to learn a lot clinical hands in procedures especially in medicine and Gynae.

College Events :

Synchisis, GMCH foundation day, sports week etc. There’s many more cultural fests held in the college and people come from all over the north east. Also there’s students joining us from different medical college from Assam. We also have a yearly voluntary blood donation camp where all the students and faculty who can, donate blood for the blood bank of the hospital to help out the ones who cannot afford.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Fee for the whole course is cheap as it is a govt medical college. Registration and admission costs around 20k. The fee structure is very transparent as they give you a detailed info about all of the different things you need to pay for. The account section is though a bit slow. The fee for the final exams is also not very much. Also the hostels are cheap and affordable.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I don’t really know of any scholarships provided by the college as it is a govt college and the fee is already very less. But those who still can’t afford can take education loan and study here. It is really good as the fees is really less. Also the hostel and other miscellaneous fee are quite affordable.

Campus Life :

Gender ratio is around 50:50. But it does change every year but is pretty much the same. People come from all walks of life and different parts of the country. But most of the students are from the No,rth east, especially from Assam. There are also a lot of student from No,rth India and from the south. But it keeps changing every year as to in you need to pass a competitive exam and you cannot take admissions via donations.

Alumni/Alumna :

The alumni of GMCH are all over India and the world. They are serving in different parts of the world in different departments. They’re knowledgeable and very skillfull and you’ll get to learn a lot in this college cum hospital.

Admission :

Got into GMCH thourough All India entrance exam (NEET). It is an annual exam held in the month of April or may. If you clear the exam then there will be a counselling process where you get to choose the college of your choice based on your rank. Toppers from Assam and No,rth east usually come to GMCH.

Faculty :

Very good faculty especially in the clinical field. One on one teaching available as the pgs are very helpful. They’ll take clinical classes and we get to learn a lot from the consultants on the rounds. They ask questions and help us learn first hand while on the rounds. Their clinical expertise is at par with one the best doctors in the country.

Course Curriculum Overview:

MBBS is the most reputed and professional course in India. As soon as we finish the internship we get a job easily. So I choose this course. All the faculties are doctors, they are experienced. They teach both theory and practical. Students were divided into small groups and sent for clinical posting in every department. Semester exams are conducted by the college and final exams are under the surveillance of the University and NMC.
