The most prestigious college for Chemical Engineering

Remarks :

It's nice here, you just need to find a way to keep up with all the workload, the fests and everything. Rest all just works. Set your priorities right, and this college would be perfect for the science buff in you.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I really like my course. It is diverse and the way the professors take up the classes makes it even more interesting. In ICT, atleast for the course of chemical engineering, they focus upon learning how stuff works and practical knowledge, we also have extensive lab work. The days are usually very hectic. Filled with labs and lectures. The exam structure has continuous assessment tests, mid terms and end terms.

Placement Experience :

Placement scenario isn't that great in our college. Companies like BPCL, HPCL, GAIL come to the college and the average package for our branch is about 6 lakhs. Highest being around 15-20 lakhs. The cstudenst usually opt for masters here. Getting internships in college for research work is quite easy.

College Events :

ICT is all about fests and tests. We have 3 major fests, Manzar, the cult fest; vortex, the chemfest; sportsaga, the sports fest. Other than that we have plenty of minor fests like Yuvam, euphoria, funtech, freshers etc. The minor fests are meant for the college students only while the three major fests are huge. Participants across Maharashtra come in and take part.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fees structure is quite feasible. It is far less than the IITs and NITs, some of which are considered to be of similar stature. For a general student, it is about 85k per year. Excluding mess, hostel etc.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The students belonging to any caste have easy access to scholarship while it might be difficult for the students of general category to obtain one. Some of them include MAHADBT. But again it was applicable only for the students belonging to the reserved category. But getting education loan is not that difficult.

Campus Life :

The gender ratio is better than most of the engineering colleges in the country. Their are multiple clubs in the college that keep on conducting events and workshops to an extent that you'd want them to stop. It is too much sometimes. The students here are more comfortable with Marathi, hence it might be a problem initially but we get used to it.

Alumni/Alumna :

Mukesh Ambani being one of our famous alumni, the alumni network is extensive, far spreader and strong. A group called UAA contributes money for the development of the college, it is an alumni association. Every year at the time of reunion, the students get to interact with the alumni.

Admission :

As I am pursuing my under graduation in engineering, the standard procedure of giving IIT JEE mains was applicable here, other than that, MHTCET is how our college majorly selects students. But it is applicable only for the students living in Maharashtra. We need to enroll on the DTE website and fill preference, according to our ranks in various exmas we are alloted a seat in one of the colleges in our list.

Faculty :

The faculty teaching in ICT is highly qualified. They are often professionals who have left their extravagant jobs in the industry or have come back to the country jbecause of their apssion and love towards our college. The faculty is updated and is involved in a lot of research work hence, updated, interested and enthusiastic about the curriculum

Students become eligible for placement from 7th sem but the training and stuff starts from 5th sem onwards. I don't really know much about the placements since I'm not planning on doing job after graduation and probably gonna do masters in the future.

Course Curriculum Overview:

So to be honest B.E course is a 4 years engineering course and it is not that easy and not too hard also. It needs a lot of focus, hardwork and practice to clear all exams. There are bunch of students who takes admission in B.E in first year but most of the students do back off in second year or some of them gets failed and gets an year drop. B.E course can be more efficient if we follow the teaching pattern like abroads. Less theory more practicals for students to understand properly.

From 7th and majorly form the 8th semester the students become eligible for the campus placement. Every year many companies visit our college like Goldman Sachs, Google, Infosys ,TCS , oracle, etc and offer a great amount of package to many students many students even get PPO. The highest package of this year was somewhere 61LPA and the average was 9 LPA. Somewhere around 82-83% students were placed this year and with good amount of packages My plan after getting the degree is pursuing a master's degree in abroad
