My experience in Rajagiri School of Engineering and Technology

Remarks :

Apart from few minor negatives, Rajagiri is still one of the top performing institute in Kerala due to its high placement, highly qualified staff and high student input range.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Like every other colleges out there, here also main focus is on theory and theory related subjects. There is enough practicals but the syllabus is a bit more focused on theory. KTU Keeps on changing structure as its a new University. For us we had 2 internals (series exams) per sem and we had to get minimum marks to sit for the university exam. But heard that there has been a change recently. So kindly go through the university website to Know more.

Placement Experience :

This is Rajagiri's highlight for many years. Almost everyone who is eligible will get a job before he graduate and leave college. They have a very excellent and efficient placement cell. Being located near infopark also gives Rajagiri a huge advantage.

College Events :

Christmas, Onam and other events are celebrated less as compared to other colleges. Here we have a decent technical fest and an arts fest. There will be conferences and events with national level and international level of participation.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

We had 75-85k per year. Fee structure is updated almost regularly. Please Check the website for more details. Almost every colleges have similar fee structure. Here its a bit high but for the quality they provide this fee structure is nominal.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

For financially backward they get most of their fee deducted when they submit relevant documents. They also have scholarships for students with top marks. They also have an international student exchange program which is based upon pure merit.

Campus Life :

The Sports segment is too poor in Rajagiri. Most of the hours are hijacked by other staff. There are plenty of clubs and co curricular activities available. Anyone with a desrie and willingness can pursue it depending upon his or her interest.

Alumni/Alumna :

Yes. They have a strong alumni network. They helps students in many ways. Last year (2019) they sponsored the techfest - Abhiyanthriki. They also has given books, umbrellas, bags and other needed materials to schools nearby.

Admission :

As its a self financing college there is both Management and govt quota. I got via Management Quota which is 50% and rest 50% is government merit. For both cases we have to get minimum marks for Board and Entrance. There is an exception for NRI admission which comes under management quota, hence their fee structure is different.

Faculty :

They all are very good and well experienced in their fields. Apart from a handful of them, all others are very helpful. They have high qualified faculties in each departments. All of them have either masters or PhDs.

Placement Experience:

Campus placements starts generally from the seventh semester in the fourth year. Nehru institutions have a lot of hold with multinational companies so a lot of companies like TCS, BPL, Amazon are offering placements to students who have no back papers. The highest package offered by companies is 9lakhs per year and the average salary is 4000/month. Mainly placements are offered to computer science engineering students comparatively.

Placement Experience:

The only student from the 4th year was eligible for campus placements. Every year nearly 88% of students got placed. Our batch was also not an exception. Most jobs were taken up by cse stream followed by our stream. Companies visited included Infosys, Cognizant Technology Solutions,ITC Infotech, Odessa Technologies, and others. The highest package of 5 lakhs was offered by Infosys.Cts offered 4 lakhs highest. The average package offered to all was 3 lakhs per annum.ITC offered 3.6 lakhs per annum. My plan after getting a degree was to join the job of CTS. Then I had dreams of an MBA in the future if possible since it would attract higher packages in the future. Many friends of mine got double offers. There were offers from. Sonodyne, Vodafone also. Since I got a job already,I didn't seat for Vodafone. Vodafone also offered a handsome package of 4 lakhs per annum.ZTE operations also took few students from our college
