Remarks :
The class routine in from 9am to 12 pm and then practical from 2.30pm to 5.30pm. Students are allowed to stay out in the campus upto 12am for both girls and boys. Campus entering timing is 10pm. One negative thing here is the fine for violation of rules. Example: fine for smoking is 20,000 rupees. For fighting among friends 60,000 rupees.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course of my department is very good for different competitive entrance like GATE, BARC, NET etc. Exam pattern is that we will have a mid semester and then the final semester. There are six semester in the whole 3 years course.
Placement Experience :
Our college doesn't provide internship. But here we have a lot of placement opportunity. Companies like ONGC, Cairn India, Vedanta, Coal India Limited, Schlumberger comes for placement and internship.
College Events :
The different events organized here are Basant, Srijan, Concetto etc. Here lots of program and competitions happen which includes quiz, modelling, singing, dancing, robo war, exhibition etc. Apart from these popular Bollywood singers are called for performance.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fee structure is quite expensive. For my course mentioned above, the fees for 3 years is around 2 lakhs 50 thousand. Odd semester fees are more then even semester. For B.tech and M.tech the fee structure is even more that account for more than 6 lakhs.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Once you get into an IIT, you get many scholarships. Many states of India gives scholarship to students studying in IIT. For merit Students, institution give an scholarship that includes the the academic fees. For IIT students student loans are given by most banks.
Campus Life :
In extracurricular activities we have drama club, art club, photography club, almost all type of indoor and outdoor sports. Swimming pool is there. Gym is there. There are two big Field where cricket and football are played along with space for hockey, athletes etc.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostels here are quite good but all rooms are having double bed. Single rooms are not provided. Mess is much better than other institution. Daily different foods are given and that includes 5 days of non veg meals.
Alumni/Alumna :
We have the best alumni network. Every where we go, if we say we are from IIT Dhanbad, alumni manages staying places along with foods and all. While going for internship we always use to contact our seniors working there and stay at there places. They are very helpful.
Admission :
Yes. I came through an entrance conducted by IIT Dhanbad for the course M.Sc.Tech. in applied Geology. Now one have to come through JAM entrance. Process is register for JAM entrance which fees is 1500 rupees. Date will be declared and you have to pass it with rank within all India rank 100 then only you will have chances. Once you crack the exam, you can seat for counseling for all IITs all over India. IIT Dhanbad is best for Geology. Once you apply for IIT Dhanbad, you can come for Admission process directly on declared date.
Faculty :
Faculty is very good here. All the teachers are previously government job holders or they completed PhD in Geology. You will find some of the best teachers of India here. You can have doubt session by visiting the teachers office directly.
