IIM Ahmedabad (2020)

FPM offered by IIM Ahmedabad is a 4-year long doctoral course in the various specializations of management. It offers specialization in Information Systems, Business Policy, Human Resource Management, Innovation and Management in Education, Strategy, etc.

Here are a few major points regarding the program that you should consider

The program comprised 3 modules containing compulsory and elective courses. You can study 2 specializations.
You cannot pursue this program alongside working somewhere as this is a full-time residential course.
IIM Ahmedabad FPM annual fee is INR 2 to INR 13 lakhs. You will be glad o know that the tuition fee is completely waived and a monthly stipend is also provided.
Although the duration is 4 years some might take 5 years to complete it. Also, you cannot opt for distance learning.
The future aspects are both academic as well as in the corporate sector.
FPM average package is in the range of INR 3 to 60 LPA
FPM future prospects are spread across various sectors like Marketing Companies, Sales sector, Educational Institutes, Financial Organizations, Banks, Export Companies, etc.

Overall, FPM is a great choice for those willing to pursue managerial roles or want to enter academia in the future.

IIMA's FPM program is unique and distinguished. It is a difficult program that puts your motivation to the test. You will complete two years of coursework, followed by a comprehensive examination, before submitting a research proposal and defending your thesis. It is a research program that should not be compared to traditional PG programs such as PGP/ MBA.

The duration is roughly 4-5 years, but it can be extended depending on your effort and luck. There are no tuition fees, and the institute will provide you with a generous stipend for the next five years. Following FPM, one can pursue an academic career or work in the industry. The degree provides you with numerous options, freedom, and opportunities.

To summarize, it is an excellent program that is difficult to complete. Even after passing through the hallowed portals, the journey to completion is difficult yet rewarding.

I don’t have detailed knowledge about what happens after completing the Fellow Membership Program at IIM Ahmedabad but I know a certain hardworking professional who had been working in top MNCs and they were outstanding in their academics but they could make it to the FPM at IIM Ahmedabad.

One of the people I know left his job and got into IIM-A as a research associate. He is still working at IIM-A. He recently got interview calls as well.

Another person I know was from BIT Mesra. She made it to FPM at IIM Ahmedabad last year at the age of 23-24. People look her up with great respect due to her achievement at this early age. There are a few others as well who are extremely talented and trying their best to achieve it.

A few FPM alumni I know are working as professors in many of the old IIMs. So, overall if you have that caliber and dedication, you will definitely achieve your goal. With the knowledge I have about the Fellow Membership Program of IIM Ahmedabad, I would rate it 4/5.
