Which is better for MBA, NIT Silchar or Tezpur university?

NIT Silchar is an engineering college so its MBA program isn’t exactly very credible. Tezpur University is a much better option than NIT Silchar in terms of faculty, exposure, and job opportunities. One needs to bear in mind that the reputation of the program matters more than the reputation of the institute.

• NIT Silchar's MBA fees is INR 1.6 Lakhs which is much less compared to the MBA fees of other B Schools.
• The companies visiting mainly target BTech students and only the mediocre roles are offered to MBA students.
• The infrastructure, hostels, and other facilities are great
• Silchar has a pleasant climate throughout the year
• The campus life is very vibrant with many events taking place back to back.

Cons:

• The remote location of Silchar poses many connectivity issues. 
• There is almost zero industrial exposure offered to the students.
• Some faculties are below average

So, so NIT Silchar is a decent choice for an MBA only if you failed to make it to the IIMs, private B Schools, IITs, other NITs, and Tezpur University. 

NIT Silchar is comparably a better option for an MBA degree. It has a good placement record. According to the highlights of NIT Silchar placements for MBA, the average CTC is INR 4 LPA. Top MNCs like Well Fargo, Goldman Sachs, SAP Labs, etc. visit the placement drive. 

As a student of NIT Silchar, you can also leverage the NIT brand name. 

For an MBA, Tezpur University will be better. NIT Silchar is reputed for their B.Tech program but their MBA program is new. If we compare the MBA programs, Tezpur University is well ahead of NIT Silchar in terms of academics, faculty and placement opportunities. As per the recent highlights of Tezpur University MBA placement, the average CTC is 5 LPA. Many MNCs visit the campus placement to recruit students. 

NIT Silchar is mostly known for its B.Tech courses. The MBA program started only a few years back and it is not that reputed. If we compare faculty, placement, opportunities for MBA then Tezpur University is definitely ahead of NIT Silchar. And reputation of the program matters more than the reputation of the institute. 

After graduation, if you want to work for FMGC, the Telecom sector in Eastern India then Tezpur University is a better choice. It also has well-experienced faculties like Chandana Goswami, Mirnmoy Sharma. The departmental alumni of the university are strong. Overall, for MBA Tezpur is better.
