After considering all the parameters and facilities offered by all three AIIMS. AIIMS Jodhpur is considered to be the better institute after AIIMS Delhi.
Yes, AIIMS Jodhpur provides single rooms to MBBS students.
However, during the initial 6 semesters, you get a room that is attached to another room that is separated by curtains. But after the 6th semester, you are transferred to the PG hostel. Here, you are provided with a whole room to yourself along with an attached toilet bathroom. There are additional facilities like a bed, table, chair, fan, and LAN ports.
AIIMS Jodhpur cutoff rank is 786 for general category students. But there is no fixed cutoff for the institute. The required cutoff varies each year depending on factors such as the difficulty level of the question paper, number of students applying. So, try to give your best in the examination.
My sister shared her experience at AURA as she was overwhelmed by the entire event. AURA is a beautiful escape from the hectic life of AIIMS Jodhpur medical students. The event is well organized and managed by the students.
The institute welcomed a celebrity every night and students met Zakir Khan, Amit Trivedi, and Nucleya among many others.
The students can be seen participating actively and many Rajasthani students too. The sports events witnessed massive participation from students of other colleges and it was a great sight to see medical students participating in extracurriculars.
My sister was from MAMC and described the overall experience as dreamy and cherished the award she won from her first-ever fest. AURA gave her a chance to restart her long-forgotten dream of playing table tennis and she considers it the best experience of her life.
AIIMS Jodhpur is very popular for its hostels and its hostels are one of the major features which set it apart from other government medical colleges in India. AIIMS Jodhpur has well-built and maintained hostels with all major modern facilities and amenities.
AIIMS Bhopal hostels are also well-maintained and have good infrastructure. The hostel rooms at AIIMS Bhopal have good furniture, with around 3/4th of a wall fitted with wooden furniture. The rooms are equipped with all the amenities such as a bookshelf, table, chair, bed, mattress, drawer, and table. There are no attached washrooms but the common washrooms are also very clean and hygienic.
AIIMS Jodhpur is better than AIIMS Rishikesh if you are looking for PG degree. It offers more seats for PG programs. There are 103 seats at AIIMS Jodhpur while AIIMS Rishikesh has 74 seats.
In terms of faculty and patient load too, AIIMS Jodhpur is better. You will be offered good lab facilities. The labs are well-maintained and equipped with the latest instruments.
Every student gets single room accommodation in the hostel. The mess facilities and food quality are better than any other medical college.
AIIMS Jodhpur is one of the most popular campus and also better than every other state medical college. It is a centrally funded institute that enjoys a large budget for it's activities like research.
An excellent curriculum is provided to the students. AIIMS Jodhpur faculty are highly experienced who are easy to talk to. The institute offers courses in both PG and UG medical education in all its branches and related fields, along with nursing and paramedical training.
It is one of the 6 new AIIMS established by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. Its aim is to create a balance in the health department by providing proper education and medical training to their students.
AIIMS Jodhpur and SMS Jaipur are two very prominent medical colleges in Rajasthan. SMS Medical College is one of the oldest medical colleges in India, while AIIMS Jodhpur is a comparatively newer institute established in 2012. Keeping all the aspects such as rankings, infrastructure, faculty, hostels, and facilities into consideration, AIIMS Jodhpur is a better choice when compared to SMS Jaipur.
SMS Jaipur is also a very good institute with a legacy attached to it, however, the institute has a comparatively old infrastructure and fewer facilities and exposure than AIIMS Jodhpur. The batch size at SMS Jaipur is also big, i.e. around 250 students in each batch. The fee is also very high in comparison to AIIMS Jodhpur. Thus, AIIMS Jodhpur is a comparatively better institute than SMS Jaipur keeping in consideration all the points.
General surgery at any of the AIIMS provides a lesser hands-on experience as there are so many MCh residents/Non-Academic. A surgery resident at AIIMS Rishikesh is posted in General Surgery as well as through all the surgical super-specialties. There will be a lot to learn here and the faculties are also good. Residents are made to do minor surgeries independently like Hydrocoele, Appendicectomy, etc. But in AIIMS you will just be assisting in most of the surgeries. You might be allowed to do these surgeries in the senior year although the number is very less. The institute usually handles complex cases so you might have little knowledge on general cases. The emergency cases are managed by JR and SR only. So you will get a lot of experience here.
You will be doing very minimal work on surgical super-specialties like Plastics, Surgical Gastro, Surgical onco, Neurosurgery, Pediatric Surgery, Urology et cetera. A unique aspect of AIIMS Rishikesh is its separate IBCC (Integrated Breast care center) under Dept of General Surgery which focuses on the multifaceted management of Breast cases in one place. So you will get the best hands-on experience here.
AIIMS Rishikesh General Surgery has 3 units. Each unit focuses on one or two of the organ systems like the colorectal unit, Hepato-pancreatic-biliary unit, etc.
Despite it all, I think pursuing surgery from a state college is better than the central institutes unless you are willing to do MCh in a particular branch.
While AIIMS Delhi is the first choice for every medical student, my sister chose AIIMS Bhubaneswar over AIIMS Delhi. Here are a few reasons that made her take this bold decision.
I believe the choice of your college should depend on the level of comfort you feel there so that you can study in a healthy environment without getting frustrated.
