My friend is a student of AIIMS Raipur. She shared her experience of her college life there.

The campus is situated a bit far from the residential areas. The faculty is very professional and experienced. They cooperate with you throughout the medical examination process.

What catches the eye is the cleanliness of the campus. It’s exceptionally well-maintained and tidy.

The library is massive with an extensive collection of academic books. The annual fest Oriana is a fun-filled event that every student of AIIMS Raipur looks forward to. Many trips are also planned to develop good relationships between students.

Among the new AIIMS, AIIMS Bhopal tops the list of libraries as well as other facilities.AIIMS Bhopal has a modern-day library which is the best you can avail yourself of. If you need some strong points to believe this, I have listed them below:

• The massive library of AIIMS Bhopal covers 3 floors and has centralized air conditioning.

• The entrance to the library has a sensor-installed automatic door.

• A fully digitalized scanner has made issuing and returning books a hassle-free process

• The library also has desktop computers for browsing the Internet And reading eBooks.

• Hardcopies of Novels, Short Stories and Biographies are also Available.

• The first floor is for general reading. The second floor is for Medical and Nursing books. It also has a Conference Room for practicing Presentations, Discussion Room, and a Room Dedicated to Research Related Stuff. The third floor constitutes the e-library, Individual Reading area, and Computer Section.

• Free Wi-Fi facility is available on all 3 floors

• The top floor has Study Pods each with its own LAN Port and 2 Charging Port.

• On every floor, there is a washroom and a water cooler

AIIMS Raipur is already a leading figure in the field of medical education. This is a result of its top-notch infrastructure and elaborate teaching methods. It satisfies modern-day demands and your life will completely change if you opt for this college to pursue an MBBS. I have enumerated some points to convince you of the same:

• You will be spending your first year at the Kabir Nagar Campus. This campus has lush green surroundings with a very clean environment. You will love your time here.

• The hostel facilities are remarkable. Boys get a 2BHK flat with 3 boys in a flat whereas girls get a 3 BHK flat with 5 girls in a flat.

• The college building comprises 3 floors with all the facilities you need to become a good medical student.

• The hygiene here is notable. 

• AIIMS offers excellent sports facilities like an indoor badminton court, volleyball (outdoor) basketball, 3–4 tables for table tennis, a football/cricket ground, and a mat for kabaddi.

• The annual fest Oriana is the cherry on top. You will have a once-in-a-lifetime experience here.

So yes, your life will definitely change for the better if you opt for this college.

It’s true that AIIMS Raipur is less preferred among the AIIMS. However, the hospital facilities and the patient load that they cater to are pretty good. Also, the campus is within the city, which is a plus point. But the campus facilities are not that good. The hostels are situated 1-2 km away from the main campus. The sports facilities on campus are also not that good. Also, there are rumors about the existence of the Naxalite community in the region. There are some of the reasons why students prefer other AIIMS over the Raipur campus.

I am a former resident of Chhattisgarh and can comment on this question easily. Well, the biggest reason why students don’t prefer Raipur despite it having great facilities is that most people consider it unsafe for students. The whole of Chhattisgarh is believed to have been dominated by “Naxalites".

However, this is just a misconception as Naxalites are there only in Bastar, Dantewada district, and in the Manpur-Mohla-chowki-chhuriya regions of Rajnandgaon district. Additionally, Naxalites don’t attack common citizens and are only after politicians and policemen. Also, the government is taking measures to eradicate them completely.

Unlike the general opinion, Chhattisgarh is absolutely safe for students so you can consider it for your studies and rest assured.

MBBS from any AIIMS is equally good and anyone who claims otherwise has false information or hasn’t been exposed to the facilities of these peripheral AIIMS. 

As for the high-tech medical instruments, UG MBBS does not require such equipment and the course is conducted mostly through clinical exposure and not research work. For this, we need enough cadavers, well-furnished labs, OTS, and well-maintained lecture theaters.

Every AIIMS provides these top-notch facilities and has excellent infrastructure that promotes a healthy academic environment. The quality of the infrastructure is further proved by the pic below

What you see here is a modular OT and a high-tech faculty that is present only in institutes of national importance because of funding from the government.

AIIMS faculty recruitment is unique and thus it’s not easy to take in just anyone as a teacher here. Moreover, the faculty shortage does not affect the quality of education. 

The results of all these AIIMS and the successful doctors they have produce are a testament to their worth and credibility that is almost the same as AIIMS Delhi.
