What are the tips to perform better in CT-GE-PI at IMT Hyderabad?

NT
Nivedita Trivedi Posted On : July 13th, 2023
IMT Hyderabad

There are some important points that I will share with you from my experience in the CT-GE-PI at IMT Hyderabad.

Critical Thinking-

  1. Do not engage in story-telling and be on point.
  2. Use pointers instead of essay form.
  3. Provide relevant facts and figures.

Group Exercise-

  1. Do not wait for your turn. Take charge from the very beginning
  2. You will need a strong competitive spirit. Start speaking when the instructor tells the group to begin.
  3. Try to be loud enough. The instructor sees the number on your back and awards scores accordingly.
  4. Try to lead and take charge of the group. However, do not be too dominating as this may prove unfavorable for you.

Personal Interview-

  1. Be Confident. The panel will easily sense it if you are not confident during the interview.
  2. Be Honest. The panel will easily find out if you try to lie during the interview.
  3. If you are a fresher, make sure to brush up on your basics.
  4. If you have work experience, you should be well-versed in your job profile and company.

These are some important points that you must remember for the CT-GE-PI at IMT Hyderabad.

How do I prepare for the IIT Madras PhD written test/interview in chemical engineering?

MR
Megha Rathi Posted On : March 31st, 2023
Studied at IIT Madras (2019)

My friend is a PhD student at IIT Madras and shared his interview experience which is similar in all the branches.

Candidates are shortlisted based on written exams that make it easy for the panels to choose among the best. This exam comprises basic GATE-level MCQs and very few questions related to the department. The entire selection procedure is wrapped in 3-4 days. The written test is quite basic and is checked by research or teaching assistants. A few departments like applied mechanics have some difficult questions related to the discipline. But this is a rare occurrence.

Usually, the level of difficulty of the exam depends on the number of candidates. It’s advisable to go through the basic topics before attempting the written test and you are good to go.

How do I prepare for the PI for IIM Rohtak?

VG
Vishal Gupta Posted On : January 10th, 2023
Studies Sadhu Vaswani International School for Girls & Sadhu Vaswani International School for Girls (Expected 2024)

Recently IIM Rohtak has stopped taking admissions under the CAP process and now conducts its own PI round. This round is quite similar to the Personal Interviews of other B Schools. Some tips to prepare for this round are

  • Prepare a strong introduction. They say the first impression is the last impression. You can use this opportunity to steer the interview in your own direction. Talk about your achievements, strengths, and diverse experiences in the form of a story.
  • Study current affairs thoroughly. Most of the questions they ask will be related to current affairs. You can read newspapers or watch online lectures to prepare for this.
  • Study your state’s government scenarios. They might ask General Awareness Questions related to Indian polity, economy, and geography.
  • Revise your past subjects. They might ask you about your favorite subjects so prepare well for this.
  • Prepare for answering all work experience-related questions. These should be answered in the STAR approach (Situation, Task, Action, Result).
  • Study about the institute. They might ask any questions related to the institute and your reason for choosing it.
  • Know your hobbies and interests. This is a very common question in an interview and you can use it to direct the interview toward yourself.

The interviews now are usually conducted online so follow the general online PI etiquettes and you are good to go.
