Sambalpur University has opened an incubation center called the 'Sambalpur University Start-up Forum' to assist and guide innovative start-ups. Teachers from various departments of the university will manage the incubation center.

New Delhi: Sambalpur University has established an incubation center at its premises in an effort to foster and guide innovative start-ups. 

The inauguration of the 'Sambalpur University Start-up Forum' took place through a video conference, with Ashok Das, the vice-chairperson of the Higher Education Council, doing the honors.

The event was attended by Vice-Chancellor Bidhu Bhusan Mishra, Registrar Nruparaj Sahu, Chairman of the PG Council Sanjukta Das, and other senior faculty members of the university. The incubation center will be managed by teachers from various departments of the university. 

The incubation center aims to provide comprehensive support to entrepreneurs, particularly student entrepreneurs, by guiding them at every stage of their entrepreneurial journey. It will offer various resources such as mentoring, networking opportunities with investors, business-related training, and workspace facilities. 

In addition, the incubation centre will facilitate connections between entrepreneurs and different industries to foster learning. It will continue to assist students until their start-ups become sustainable and successful. 

Vice-Chancellor Bidhu Bhusan Mishra stated that the aspirants can approach the university with their start-up ideas, and they will provide them with guidance and the necessary infrastructure to bring their ideas to life. 

Apart from the incubation centre, the vice-chairperson of the Higher Education Council also inaugurated a new building for the Central Instrumentation Facility (CIF) centre at the university. The construction of the building cost around Rs 2 crore, and additional instruments worth Rs 4.5 crore will be purchased for the CIF centre.

The CIF centre aims to enhance research and scientific activities in the region by housing sophisticated instruments for various scientific disciplines. Its primary objective is to strengthen the technological infrastructure for advanced research in different fields of science, all under one roof. 

The building has been completed, and the procurement of instruments will commence soon. The vice-chancellor mentioned that the centre is expected to become operational within the next 3 to 4 months.
