New Delhi: The Kurukshetra University has postponed the undergraduate and postgraduate exams. The exams were planned to begin on July 13, 2023. The administration will soon release updated exam schedules. The choice was taken as a result of the flooding and heavy rains in northern India.

Kurukshetra University Vice Chancellor Som Nath Sachdeva gave exam centres the order to postpone taking exams till July 13, 2023 in order to avoid upsetting students and parents. The Examination Controller Hukam Singh said “The state has had non stop rain for the last two to three days, which has caused chaos in daily life.

The Vice Chancellor decided to postpone the exam as a result of the fact that several villages and districts are experiencing flood-like conditions. In a short while, new test dates will be released".

The University has postponed Monday's evening schedule in addition to the tests scheduled for July 11 to July 13, 2023 for both the autumn and evening sessions of the exams for UG, PG, and engineering degrees.

A revised schedule for the KU entrance tests will also be made public. The Haryana government has also provided a helpline number in response to the situation that the recent downpours have caused. In the event of a problem, call the State landline number, as well as the flood helplines 1070, 1077, and 112.

Numerous roads have been blocked by recent heavy rains, making it potentially challenging for candidates to reach the exam site. In order to protect the interests of the students, it has been decided to postpone these exams.

Delhi experienced a similar situation, and schools were closed on Monday and Tuesday. The schools in Nainital will remain closed to students in grades 1 through 12 from July 10 to July 13, 2023.

The action follows the MET department's notification of a red alert for the Uttarakhand districts of Chamoli, Pauri Garhwal, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Almora, Champawat, Nainital, and Udham Singh Nagar on July 11 and July 12, 2023.
