New Delhi: The National Board of Accreditation (NBA) has granted accreditation to three engineering departments at Jadavpur University until June 2026. These departments include power engineering, information technology, and instrumentation & electronics.
Jadavpur University Pro-VC Chiranjib Bhattacharjee stated that according to the regulations of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), NBA accreditation has become mandatory for engineering courses in any institution. He emphasized that NBA accreditation serves as an internationally recognized benchmark and is crucial for engineering graduates to secure jobs in Gulf countries.
Furthermore, he highlighted that the absence of NBA accreditation could potentially lead to a halt in central funding for projects within the engineering faculty. It was mentioned that a team from the NBA, responsible for evaluating whether engineering institutes meet the standards set by AICTE, conducted a visit to the three departments from March 24 to March 26.
As a result, JU has now commenced the process of obtaining the NBA accreditation for computer science and engineering, as well as electrical and electronics & telecommunication departments. Meanwhile, Jadavpur University is currently inviting applications for PG engineering programs admission 2023.
The Application process began on May 23 and the last date to apply for the same is June 6, 2023. The Interview for PhD program under the Jadavpur University Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, Law & Management (FISLM) will be conducted on June 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, 10,12, 2023.
