New Delhi: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) released a public notice addressing all its students on its website on February 29, 2024. The notice mentioned that unauthorized people and individuals were approaching students via calls, emails, or messages. These fraudsters then ask students to pay admission or re-registration fees and take money from them through false payment links.

In the notice, IGNOU warns students not to share personal information or make payments on any links or requests not verified by the university. The notice denied requesting help from any third-party members for payments. It requested students to visit only the official IGNOU website at ignou.ac.in and make payments for admission, examinations, and registration or re-registration through the official portals.

“All the learners are advised to remain alert and vigilant and prevent themselves from being cheated and share details with local police authorities for stringent action under the law,” read the IGNOU notice.
