• A minimum of 50% marks is required for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/PH candidates.
• Candidates who have qualified UGC-NET/CSIR-NET/SLET or are endowed with a UGC teacher Fellowship are eligible to apply. 
• Candidates with a valid score in GATE, JEST, DBT, INSPIRE, NFST, NFSC, NFOBC, ICHR, ICPR, ICSSR or ICMR are exempted from the entrance test. 

Candidates who have cleared the MPhil coursework with at least 55% marks.

• A relaxation of 5% marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed.
• Those who do not meet the eligibility criteria will not be considered for admission seats.
