Balmiki Kumar is the workshop Superintendent Cum lecturer at SIIT, Patna. He holds B.Tech & M.Tech & Ph.D (pursuing ) from JNU and NIT Agartala & NIT Patna respectively. Further, he holds a diploma in Mechanical from 2008 to 2012 from C.I.T.D Hyderabad. He qualified GATE in Mechanical in the year 2018. Safety is our top priority in the workshop. We have strict safety protocols in place, including regular safety training for all staff and students. We also conduct regular inspections of equipment and machinery and ensure that proper safety gear is provided and used at all times. Additionally, we have emergency response plans in place to handle any unforeseen situations.


How do you ensure that the workshop is equipped with the latest technology and tools?

As the Workshop Head, I work closely with the college administration to secure funding for equipment upgrades and new purchases. We also maintain strong relationships with industry partners who often provide us with the latest tools and technologies.


How do you manage the workshop budget?

Managing the workshop budget is a crucial aspect of my role. I closely monitor expenses, ensure that maintenance and repair costs are accounted for, and prioritize spending based on the needs of the students and the workshop. I also explore cost-saving measures, such as seeking out competitive suppliers or exploring partnerships with industry sponsors.
