Dr. L.K. Jain is the Director-General at Gateway Education. He has done his Postgraduation in Physics, Education, Defense Studies and Management and also has a Doctorate degree. He is associated with the Education sector for more than 38 years. His involvement comprises teaching, managing teaching-learning and educational administration.

How would you describe your leadership style?

“A true leader knows the worth of its team and allow difference of opinions”

In my opinion, A good leader is one who can easily identify the abilities of every member of his/her team and accordingly, utilize their skills to contribute towards successfully attaining the set goals and targets. A good leader is also able to take the entire team together to achieve triumph and at the same time ensure that such a success leads to individual contentment and realization of each team member.

What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

“My ardor to teach youths keeps me allied with this division”

The most significant factor that is responsible for my throughout association with the Education sector is my passion for teaching. I strongly believe that imparting skills and knowledge through education is the only way of ensuring a seamless generation that can make this world a happy place to stay for each and every human being. Thus, by becoming an educator, I have fruitfully used my passion to contribute towards the larger benefit of society.

How does the curriculum of your institute ensure the best practices of the industry?

“It imparts desired skills and competencies in students”

The curriculum has been framed in a manner that sufficiently allows the cultivation of the right attitudes, value education and life skills in students so that they become successful individuals after passing out from the Institution. It has been prepared with a clear and concise objective to achieve is friendly for both teacher and student by being non-rigid and flexible. 

What do you think should be the University’s top priority over the next ten years?

“To create more entrepreneurs by developing our students”

The world today has become a highly competitive place to stay, work and pursue a career of choice. When you first joined this institute, what was your vision for the University?

“To make this institute best by utilizing my experience” 

I have joined Gateway Education to utilize the experience and wisdom which I gained during my last 38 years to achieve the aim of education. My vision for Gateway Education is to ensure that institution will eventually become an institute par excellence that is proficient enough so that every student passing out of its portal becomes a successful individual in the career.

What do you see as University’s greatest strengths that make it unique at the same time?

“Our infrastructure, faculties and students makes us strong”

We have a very huge, lush green and state-of-the-art campus that houses all the institutions is a perfect place for young students to learn in the lap of nature. The most significant and valuable aspect of ours is that we have highly accomplished and educated individuals along with highly experienced and consummate faculty, well-framed curriculum, huge playfields with modern sports infrastructure and co-curricular activities provide the right blend for the perfect physical, emotional, spiritual and academic development of students.

What are some of the major changes that Covid-19 has brought in the education sector according to you?

“It has created learning hurdles for students and teaching challenges for teachers”

The Education sector has been one of the worst sectors which is affected by this pandemic. In my opinion, online classes are no substitute for the physical mode of education. Our students have missed a lot of in-terms of learning. Nevertheless, there has been a positive side too. The overnight adaption of the online way of teaching-learning by our teachers and students has been much appreciated and has made us realize the importance of quick adaptation to any new situations that may crop up in the future. The prominence of technology in the field of education also got, unambiguously, established during the last two years.

What are your roles and responsibilities towards the institute?

“To ensure smooth execution of processes in college”

As the Director-General, my primary function is to coordinate between the Board of Governors and the Heads of Institutions and Departments for the smooth and efficient functioning of the Gateway Education constituents. My role is also to ensure a conducive environment at GE so that the vision and mission set for the Institutions are met.

How do you tend to establish a healthy relationship and environment in your institute?

“I stay connected with everyone through live communication”

The foremost action to achieve a healthy relationship and environment in any institution is to ensure positive student-teacher and intra-staff relationships at all times. I ensure this through various activities such as get-togethers, celebrations, spending time with each other on playfields and trips, healthy use of digital media to share thoughts and interests, effective and regular communication, awarding, rewarding and appreciating good work and mentoring instead of rebuking, etc.

Any messages that you would like to give to the current youth?

“Work hard and stay consistent”

With the competition being so fierce, only those who will have the best of careers and be successful in life, who acquire the skills and competencies to solve life problems. These abilities and capabilities can be acquired through the right education and practice of hard work, sense of purpose, persistence and passion. Hence, I would advise that all-around education should be taken in the right earnest by those who want to be successful in life.
