Dr Mamta Rani is the Associate Professor (HOD) at the Department of Management Studies, Gateway Education, Sonepat, Haryana. She has a total of 21 years of teaching experience and has developed a deep understanding of technical and theoretical courses in business administration. She has been closely working with the students and has 5 Year of experience as a Course Coordinator. As an educator, she is involved in counselling students and developing the overall personality of students. Her key areas of interest include Marketing Management, Strategic Management, Organisational Behavior, Business Strategy, Corporate Social Responsibility, Human Values and Ethics and various General Management subjects.

What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

The education sector provides a unique opportunity to impart knowledge and skills to the building blocks of the nation. I believe as a professor it is an enormous opportunity to help direct the future of the nation as well as the world in the right direction. It requires constant learning and upskilling on our part. Research is my passion and 


What is your philosophy of leadership? 

I believe that effective communication is the key to effective leadership”

I would say that my leadership style is direct and participative. My strengths as a leader are effective communication and delegation. I ensure that the roles and responsibilities are clearly defined and there are no miscommunications among my team members. Along with that I also believe that participation and a conducive environment helps nurture creativity. 


What are the major challenges faced by the education sector during the pandemic?

“The sudden confinement to homes hampered the smooth flow of the teaching-learning process”

This pandemic is the most unexpected hard-hitting situation we have faced in centuries. A familiar classroom environment was no longer possible to provide, but the educators came through for the betterment of the students. Providing quality education to all the students equally was the biggest challenge faced by the education sector. Technology played a huge role in connecting students and teachers. Educators had to deal with the sudden pressure of learning all the tools for conducting online classes. Technology has been a boon during these tough times.


How does the curriculum of your institute ensure the best practice of industry?

“The college follows an Outcome-based education model by developing course plans with objectives”

We keep a close eye on the trends of the industry, and how the scenarios are changing in the industry. This helps us understand the demands of the industry. We also ensure that we train our students in accordance with the latest skills and practices suitable for the industry.

“The massive shift from offline to online teaching process has been a challenge”

The biggest challenge we are facing during this time is shifting to the digital mode of education. Additionally, ensuring exposure and opportunities for the students in online mode is a challenge. It is a tedious process but with the dedication of our devoted educators, I feel we will be able to overcome the challenges.
