What keeps you connected with the education sector and how has your experience been so far with this institute?

Before entering education, I worked in the manufacturing sector after graduating from SGSITS. Here, I held various positions in manufacturing industries, including service, production, preventive maintenance, and sales. Thereafter, I transitioned to the education industry, joining the Prestige Group in 2011. When I joined Prestige in 2011, I was completing my M.Tech. after which I pursued my PhD and was promoted to Associate Professor. I'm grateful to Prestige for their support and for promoting professional growth. The continued support for not just the student’s development but also the faculty’s development keeps me connected with this industry.

What are your roles and responsibilities in this institute?

My roles and responsibilities have evolved over time as management has been providing opportunities for skill enhancement and institutional improvement. For instance, during my pursuit of a PhD, I was promoted to the position of Associate Dean in Academics where I worked for two years. However, with time, it became apparent that my expertise could be utilized more effectively beyond the academic realm, specifically in the first-year department. This department is crucial, as it welcomes newly admitted students. In this capacity, I oversee a broad range of responsibilities, ensuring the academic progress and overall development of these budding engineers.

What are some valuable insights into the programs you are offering to students?

We offer more than seven programs but we have introduced new courses like Logistics & supply chain management, Civil Engineering with Computer Application & Electrical Power Engineering, each with 30 seats this year. Initially, we had 120 seats in mechanical engineering, but we decided to surrender 60 seats to introduce new branches such as automation robotics and AIDS. This decision aligns with our management's forward-thinking approach to offering relevant programs in demand in the job market, thus enhancing students' placement opportunities. In addition to the RGPV curriculum, we prioritize extracurricular activities to provide a holistic learning experience. We have various active clubs in ASH Department, including the Maths Club, English Club, Science Club, and Innovative Club that foster students' interpersonal skills and overall growth.

What is the top priority of your institute in the upcoming year?

The top priority for our institute in the upcoming year is to continue delivering quality education that is accessible to students and within the budgetary constraints of parents. We take pride in offering B.Tech. courses at competitive fees, particularly in fields like Computer Science Engineering. We maintain the lowest fees among top colleges. This dedication to excellence has been a cornerstone of our institution for the past 16 years, and we are fully committed to upholding and enhancing it in the future.

What skill sets students should possess to be employable in the market?

To be employable in the market, students should possess a diverse set of skills beyond academic knowledge. While we provide support from 10 AM to 5 PM, students must utilize their time effectively, especially after class hours. Soft skills, such as communication and interpersonal abilities, are essential and can be honed through programs like the soft skills training offered by our Android training cell. Additionally, students should focus on aptitude and interview preparation to excel in job interviews. Moreover, after college hours, students should dedicate themselves to learning new software and technologies that are in demand in the market. Furthermore, students need to prioritize their overall well-being by maintaining physical and mental health. By investing time in both skill development and personal well-being, students can significantly enhance their employability in the market.

How do you bring in a practical approach towards subjects?

I integrate a practical approach into subjects by leveraging technology and my expertise. For instance, in the first year, I teach engineering graphics using smart boards, allowing for interactive demonstrations of various models. This enhances students' visualization and imagination skills. In the later semesters, I teach subjects like the Kinematics of Machines and the Dynamics of Machines, going beyond the RGPV syllabus. I've developed proficiency in various softwares like RoboAnalyzer Developed by IIT-Delhi and Linkage Software, providing students with hands-on experience in 2D and 3D simulation of various mechanism, which will help understand the Forward/Inverse Kinematics & Dynamics as well as various degrees of freedom of Robots & their simulation with various D-H Parameters..
