Placement Experience:

The students are getting enrolled in the placement activities from the very first semester. training and Placement will ask you for the summer internship, and other part-time jobs. I was also doing a part-time job during the semester. Coming to the average package, then there is an of 10 lakh. Many IT, Automobiles and tech companies offer jobs for the students. The person who had more experience will have a very high chance of getting placed with a high package. Almost 90% of students will be placed before the end semester. The eligibility of companies was made by them and those students who are eligible, can apply and proceed further.

Campus Life:

Coming to the infrastructures of the University, the university owns a big cafeteria, a central library along with reading rooms, hostels with 24*7 CCTV surveillance, a seminar hall, event hall, Sports arena, automation labs, and many more. There are many groups such as the E-yantra club, Coding club and many clubs which are run by a group of students. There were so many extra activities performed in the University. In the central library, you can access any book of your course. The reading rooms of the library is very big, that many students can sit and study and read the books at once.

VNIT has a big 215 acres green campus with all the facilities a student can possibly imagine. Many student activities such as AXIS, Consortium organized by E-Cell, and small events take place all the time. Since college is online from last year, digital books are made available from library, we can also access journals and research papers. There are also many active clubs and groups. IvLabs is a robotics club.

Placement Experience:

Every year there is up trend in number of companies visiting campus. Around 150 companies can be expected. TnP office has started taking training on basic coding skills, interview skills, group discussion. BTech placements are excellent. Roles like GET are more common. MTech placements are very low. Only few companies allow Mtech students to sit for placements.

Remarks:

I would say, it's upto you as to how you make the most out of the opportunities you get at the college.Personally I felt the experience to be rewarding, made great connections and experienced beautiful moments during all those 4 years of Engineering.KJSCE has a well maintained beautiful campus, surely amongst the best in Mumbai. Good sports amenities and facilities. Good engineering crowd, many gujjus because of the minority quota, so you will have to deal with hearing Gujarati, a LOT!Though I don't know about other departments, but the Mechanical engineering department indeed had smart students. The Mechanical Engineering department boasts the best Formula Student team in India (at least when I graduated it was). They even had many other teams which participated in BAJA, Shell Eco Marathon, Robocon etc. However, the one thing common across all the departments is that you can find the alumni in top colleges like Purdue, Georgia Tech, UMich Ann Arbor, NYU, CMU, Cornell etc. pursuing their Masters.A few cons are that there's no cutting edge research going on for the geeky types, won't get funding for projects easily, shit placements. Being in the heart of Mumbai, if a college can't bring in top companies, it's a shame. There's a lot of talent but they aren't given great placement opportunities. Majority of the students find it on their own through their connections. (Accenture, TCS & Infosys aren't considered great opportunities by me).The college has become autonomous and thus I hope it takes some lessons from Universities like BITS and IITs so as to introduce a much more diversified learning exposure, internships, student exchange programs with top universities, etc. It's important that students are exposed to subjects that matter in the real world along with the core engineering curriculum. Introducing a good curriculum can attract consulting and finance companies too for placements.Anyways if you get admitted here, you won't regret it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Infrastructure-AverageClass Infrastructure--AverageLab infra- Good you will get very good instruments to use like DSO Spectrum anlyzer.and stuffFaculty- Good,Most of them are phd holders but you will have to show intrests yourself to get Knowledge out of them.Sports-Very good good playground Batminton court TT tables,Carrom and cricket ground also good for atheletes as it has a nice running course arround the ground.Beleive it or not Farhan Akhtar used to practice here while shooting for Bhag milkha bhag.Extra curricular Activites-Very good,Good for Social activites too a seperate council is present for social activitesTechnical Events-Every department will have its own technical event every year.Participates in ROBOCON and Orion events which makes a racing car every year.As now it has become autonomous internship options are also getting betterPLACEMENTS-Good mostly many companies come every year ,but also depands on the market scenario that year mostly IT jobs.Core Companies do come but again it depends if you are lucky.Assignment wise you will surely get less of assignments here than any other Engineering colleges in mumbai.I was very much impressed by this.you will get good amount ot time to pursue your independant research or participate in many other activites you would like as you will be less burdened with assignments.Overall Experience for me was very good made lot of good friends and enjoyed to keeping the rapo and balancing the study. It all depends on how you want to use the freedom and resources that are available, But lastly i will say I am VERY PROUD TO BE A K.J.SOMAIYATE.

During my studies we were supposed to prepare a technical papers and it was a very great experience for me since I have not presented any of my life time prior technical papers presentation. The technical papers presentation is about and including the subjects and individual technical writing and getting application from external links such as Google, Senior's. I had prepared well and shown to Lecturer and the feedback was good. He told me that showing it me was okay but you need to present infront DEEN and a minimum croude of 1000 people's. Also a lot of lecturers are from external. After paper presentation a some group Judge will ask questions. It was a real good experience for me and the interestingly I was preparing this presentation saying loudly infront of mirror. The time management also very important per student and a group of students the paper presentation should completed within 20minutes. Hence I was little concious too in time management too while doing regarsal. The interestingly I was successful after repeated 79th time successful presentation in the mirror. I applied same concept in Technical presentation during meeting. It was went well and we got a Third price at Madras University.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Yes, ofcourse, when I was just started going to the classroom management, the staff members are very friendly in nature and they were delt very well about the course structure. I would say it was an interactive learning session rather than the instructions. It was a turning point to me and then I did a project of artificial intelligence guidance by professor. I was learnt knowl and the skills in a Computer Aided design and Computer Aided Manufacturing. It was then I applied the learnt knowledge in a Automotive industry and made several Tooling fixtures and gauges with digital images and 3D modelling.

Placement Experience:

There is less placement opportunities for mechanical branch because here we will be starting b.tech program for mechanical engineering from this year only. But other branches have good placement, I would say excellent placement. This year LnT and Arceller Mittal came for placement drive for mechanical engineering. 5 intern selected in Arceller Mittal along with one placement.

Admission:

There is a common entrance exam for admission in M.Tech course called as GATE. after clearing gate there is CCMT counseling process of 3 round and one NSR round ( National spot round). I opted this course becouse this course have huge job opportunities in market.

Admission:

The very first thing that I should mention is that a lot of my friends from school suggested me this college as it has everything handy and the crowd and culture is highly appreciable. I first filled the exam form by registering online from college website bvducoep.edu.in which comes in the month of Feb-march-April. Then after this I got the admit card on email and appeared for the exam which happens usually in last week of MAY or first week of JUNE. The selection of candidates is on the basis of merit(for M. Tech). Only the first 70 merit candidates are selected for the selection process for the availability of 18 seats(in my case). Also, 70 other candidates are put in waiting merit list, in case any seat(s) remain vacant. I experienced that once you disagree for admissions or fail to deposit fee on time, they will reject your form immediately, even if you have an eligible merit rank. After the merit list, the formality of submitting tuition fees, registration fees and caution money is done. And the regular classes start from 15 July onwards. If you have appeared for Gate and have a valid 'Gate Score', you will be given 50% relief on college fees. Good Gate Score is the best way to get admission.

Alumni/Alumna:

Alumni network is the strength of the college and senior students perform their projects with the junior students in group. Alumni from 1968 batch are still active and willingly join hands to improve the college's power to deliver with strong support. A total of around 300+ alumnis stand together with the Bharati Family, having their network into every corner of the world and working alongside every industry, whether it is automobile or bollywood. Senior students are very friendly and grown up people. They are way past the ragging and teasing scenario like in other colleges. They are fun to talk to and hang out with. A culture of togetherness and fun filled experiences make a good overall senior-junior relationship where they are made to work together in different programs and function in and outside the college.

Admission:

To join in this institute I written APPGECET exam. In that I got 289 rank. By using this I attended in a counseling which is conducted by Andhra Pradesh state Council of Higher Education. At the time of counselling I verified my certificates in the help desk after that they giving a separate user id and password. By using this user credentials I choose this college as a first option in web counselling. After couple of days the counselling results was announced and I got this Institute with conformation letter i.e, allotment order. Then I went to this college and submitted my certificates along with allotment order to confirm my seat. Like PGECET, GATE rank holders are also eligible. For non Rankers only one seat available which is Spot Admission but it requires Recommendation and the cost of seat is double as compared to rankers.

Course Curriculum Overview:

To verify course curriculum I visit college official portal that is www.jntuacep.ac.in in that I go to downloads, in downloads I select exam portal in the exam portal courses academic regulations, syllabus, academic calendar and all information regarding course curriculum available. In course 2 semesters for first year. In 1st sem FEM, computational methods subjects are available which is useful to understand ANSYS, HYPERMESH softwares. In electives CFD, quality engineering manufacturing this type of subjects available. In 2nd sem robotics, advanced Optimization techniques, mechatronics, rapid prototyping subjects available which is useful for research. 2nd year totally for project work.

SVNIT is quite supportive for student activities. They celebrate Sparsh as a cultural fest every year. Following events are held: Informal Events Technical Events, Managerial Events, Night Events, Social Causes, Mega Attractions, Lectures, Workshops & Exhibitions, School Events except that as independence day, republic day, alumni day, world environment day and other events are held at big scale.

Fee Structure And Facilities:

Fees is quite economical. in my time it as around 30000 for sem and hostel. It can be easily maintained from M.tech Stipined, so no load to parent. But in comparison of other NITs it is a little bit high.It includes tuition fees, library fees, admission fees, alumni fee (one time), institute development fees and security deposit. For B.tech it is around 80000 for a year.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course is quite good but need to be more practical than theoretical. Lack of industrial exposure faculty is awesome ,Need to include more software training by professional person course involves some subjects like artificial intelligence which personally i fill needs to be omitted instead course should be divided in 2 parts .First one should be Design oriented in which designing concept & software training must be include and 2 nd should be Analysis oriented.

Faculty:

Faculty is awesome they are performing best with available resources experience wise quite mature & heavy experience faculty is available. Almost all faculty is Ph.D with different areas which helps student in their projects some of faculty having experience of working in industry & even in ISRO which is really good thing for students quite unhappy with T&P for M.Tech students for B.Tech students T& P is best in the city.

Ques. Sir my gate score 630, ME general, any chance in IIT Bhubaneswar core mechanical department?

● Top Answer By Ankush Mehta on 14 Aug 20

Ans. Yes, there is a good chance that you will get a seat in IIT Bhubaneswar core mechanical department. In IIT Bhubaneswar, the selection is based on 70% weightage for the GATE score and 30% weightage for the performance in the Written Test and Interview. The department has 3 main branches i.e. Design, Thermal, and Manufacturing. The cutoff is most likely to be, Design>Thermal >Manufacturing in all IITs. As design seats get filled first, then thermal and then manufacturing. There are 18 seats for both Mechanical Systems Design and Thermal Science and Engineering in IIT Bhubaneswar. The basic eligibility criteria are 60% marks in B. Tech./B. E. in Mechanical Engineering with a valid GATE score. Although cutoff changes every year for each branch but based on last year’s record, in 2020, the expected GATE cutoff for Mechanical System Design(GEN) is 595- 605 in IIT Bhubaneswar. So, yes there is a good possibility that you will make the cut.Read more
