Entrance Exams:

To secure admission at the Indian Institute of Art & Design, students have to submit the application form and then appear for an entrance examination. Students seeking admission to the Design courses have to take IIAD’s Design Aptitude Test (IDAT).

Students seeking admission to Business Management courses (both undergraduate and postgraduate) have to appear for IIAD’s Management Aptitude Test (IMAT) followed by an interview.

IIAD Design Aptitude Test (IDAT):

The IDAT is the initial step in the admission process for undergraduate design programmes. It evaluates a candidate's creative and visual skills, cultural awareness and logical thinking through a mix of visual tasks, writing assignments, one-word responses and multiple-choice questions. To prepare for this competitive test, applicants receive sample papers from their assigned counsellors through WhatsApp and email. IIAD also organizes webinars and a mock test one day before the main exam to familiarize candidates with the online testing environment.

Candidates can choose to take the IDAT either online or on-campus at IIAD's Delhi Campus. For the online exam, IIAD recommends using a Windows-based laptop to ensure compatibility and avoid technical issues.
