What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

“Being connected to academics while learning from teachers & peers equally”

  • Having been a teacher for more than two decades, I have realized one major factor that can make one successful, is being agile and adaptive to new ideas and approaches to the education system. Rigidity in the education system does not serve well to either the students or the teacher.
  • And one of the ways to prevent it is keeping up with technology that provides brand new ideas to access information, especially in these difficult times of pandemic.
  • One other essential factor I believe in is an exchange of experience between teachers. In contemporary society, teachers should not only be independent but must also learn from their best peers.

What is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

“Leading the curious young minds of the students with patience and understanding”

Since a major part of my interactions and my work involves students, I incline towards a transformational strategy when it comes to leadership. Leadership is an unavoidable quality a teacher must possess. I often encourage them to ask questions without any hesitation. A good leader should be firm and not tolerate insufficiency and lethargy, but friendly enough to understand and help resolve any inconveniences and hurdles that their students face and this is what I strive to follow.

How do you strategize about the key programs and plans for the marketing and administration of your college?

“Open communication with intended students using our intricate online programs”

Being the Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at my institute, I have to deal with the marketing and administrative responsibilities daily. To facilitate marketing and administration, our institute has built a website that features many essential and intricate details of our institute some of which are – successful alumni, student and faculty achievements, our campus, social life, extra-curricular events, and much more. We also hold personalized seminars and webinars to talk to intended students and answer their questions to the best of our abilities.

In your experience, what can an inbound student gain from studying here in your institute?

“Providing the best possible real-life applications to all the theoretical knowledge gained”

Our institute provides a top tier nurturing technical education. We have a highly qualified team of faculties and a closely-knit community of students and teachers. The achievements of our alumni clarify that studying in our institute will surely bring in success if the students are committed enough. To facilitate this, we have dedicated laboratories for every department. We also have a library filled with wide resources of books and computers which the students can make use of indefinitely. But along with education, we believe in the overall development of a young mind, hence our student body organizes numerous technical and non-technical events as well.

How does the curriculum of your institute ensure the best practice of the industry?

“Our institute prioritizes practical knowledge over theory”

  • The curriculum is scheduled in such a way that every day, over 2-4 hours are dedicated to laboratory sessions. And to avoid overwhelming resources, the class is divided into several groups such that all the students gain equal opportunity and access to the laboratory resources.
  • Practical sessions hold equal weightage in acquiring overall scores, hence it’s compulsory for students to attend. The faculty tries to make these sessions as fun and informative as possible.
  • All of these practices undoubtedly build the knowledge required to apply in the industry when they graduate from our institute.

Any insights into how your institute could be more welcoming to students of different races or economic backgrounds?

“Plenty of opportunities to support the education of underprivileged & socially backward classes”

Attracting diversity takes legwork. Our Institute provides many opportunities for people from underprivileged socio-economic backgrounds under the state government schemes and subsidies. All the races are treated equally and there are no biases done by the institute. Even the faculties come from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds. Merit-based recognition is what the institute encourages.

What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the institute and the students are?

“Working with students to help them gain not just a degree, but an overall career”

  • Develop a curriculum for various courses and ensure that it meets college and department standards.
  • Advise students about which classes to take and how to achieve their goals.
  • Stay informed about changes and innovations in my field.
  • Conduct research and experiments to advance knowledge in their field.
  • Publish original research and analysis in books and academic journals.
  • Serve on academic and administrative committees that review and recommend policies, make budget decisions, or advise on hiring and promotions within my department.

Since your arrival, what has been your vision for the institute & how has it evolved?

“Changing with the times, to materialize the aspiring vision of the founders”

When I first came to the institute it had just been established and was still on its foundation. It seemed like an embodiment of the aspirations of a group of positive founding members who wanted this college to stand for something great. Over the years, I have seen the changes in the education system, a generation of students evolve and the shift in the job markets but the institute has always been towards adapting these changes and is willing to make the best of every scenario.

What would you like people to know about your institute they may not know?

“Established at a prime location, near Asia’s largest industrial zone”

The institute is located at a prime location in the city of Bharuch. It is within walks from the railway station and the city center. Moreover, it is located near Asia’s largest Industrial Zone, Ankleshwar GIDC. For the recreation purposes of students, we have a sports complex, food courts, stationery outlets, and a relatively huge campus which adds to the beauty of the institute.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

“Uplift the country’s educational, industrial and economic conditions”

Just that they should focus on being excellent in their respective fields and have long-term career goals rather than being industry ready and settling on petty jobs. I would say though, it’s not a bad idea to be industry-ready, but they should not just curb their dreams of achieving a higher goal.
