Mr. Rohan Rajput is the Head of the Civil Engineering Department at the Corporate Institute of Science and Technology. He did his B.Tech from Sagar Institute of Research & Technology, Bhopal, in 2014 and M.Tech in 2016. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. from RGPV Bhopal. He has around eight years of work experience in the teaching field.

Being a Faculty of the Civil Engineering Department, what are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?

My department’s responsibility focuses on conducting practicals as well as providing the best education to the students and my responsibility is to monitor all the faculty members so that they can teach the students in the best way possible.

How do you tend to establish healthy relations with the students and fellow faculty?

I tend to establish healthy relationships with the students by being friendly to them & treating them as a friend so that they can share all their problems whether it is related to education or their personal life. I also have a friendly relationship with the faculty members & also treat them as my friends as they are the ones who are educating the students in the best way possible.

How do you try to bring in a practical approach towards subjects and make it industry-oriented?

We basically conduct various field visits & guest lectures every semester which enhances the quality of education in our department as well as helps the students know various information related to the advancement of technologies in this fast-paced world.

What are the best practices offered by the department to the students that help them gain the necessary skills?

We provide best practices in our department by following the designed curriculum made by RGPV as we are affiliated with RGPV. We also use e-Labs & various electronics ICD tools for the students which enhances the practical knowledge of the students and helps them in their career.

How do you strategize the curriculum and how often does it get updated to make it beneficial for the students?

We follow the curriculum of RGPV & we also have additional subjects that cover the gap as well as provide additional knowledge to the students so that they will have an additional skill in their pocket in order to compete in this modern world.

How do you help your student cope with the competition being so high on the outside world?

We basically conduct various aptitude classes, and communication skills classes so that they enhance the quality of students & will be able to compete in this fast-moving world.

What are the challenges you faced/ are facing to uplift the quality of education in your department?

The challenges we have faced are that in my institute there was not that type of faculty that can perform the practical in RGPV but we are doing our best for the students so that they will be able to adapt themselves according to the technology.

When you came to college, what was your vision and how are you trying to achieve the same?

My vision is to make the student industry ready so that they would have a prosperous career ahead & for that vision, I taught & guided the students in the best possible manner so that they would be able to handle any difficult task without hesitation.

What do you see as the department’s/ college’s greatest strengths and how it can be enhanced?

Our college strength is our infrastructure which is the best and our labs, as they are fully furnished with well-equipped tools that help the students understand things or concepts in a better manner.

How does the department/ college/University enhance the skills of the faculty and prepare them as per the industry standards?

We offer the faculty members to attend the FDPs, expert lectures, and seminars outside the college premises and we also promote the faculty members with promotion to higher rank as well so that they can do their research papers & publish their papers in different fields.

What valuable advice would you like to give to the students to have a prosperous career ahead?

My valuable advice to the students is to choose our institute & join us & We will definitely help them to become career-ready & ensure the best placement of this entity.
