Being a Faculty of the Mechanical Engineering Department, what are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?

My main responsibility is to teach the students. Apart from that I also have to expose the student to various Industries so that both the practical and concept classes can be clear to the students which will result in better understanding of things.

How do you tend to establish healthy relations with the students and fellow faculty?

Yes, we tend to have a healthy relationship with everyone as we all follow the ethical rules of the Institute which binds us together. Apart from that we also have a friendly relationship with students which helps us understand the students better & to solve their personal problems too. Moving to our faculty we have respect for each other, we recognize each other's talents through which we have a healthy relationship with each other.

How do you try to bring in a practical approach towards subjects and make it industry-oriented?

Ultimately, the goal of engineering is to create new things and to make new designs. That is what engineering is: improving existing work. Not all things are related to concept classes. We have to have practical classes along with industrial visits so that the students can be industry-oriented. Also, in our department, we have various software and tools for the students so that they will be able to draw 3D models of a particular design, which will help them work on a particular project.

What are the best practices offered by the department to the students which help them gain necessary skills?

We have an innovation cell in our department where faculties involve our students in various projects so that they can adapt themselves to technological changes. Currently, the students of our department have done seven projects, thanks to which they can understand things better.

How do you strategize the curriculum and how often it gets updated to make it befitting for the students?

We are confined to VTU, and apart from that, we add additional subjects to our curriculum so that students can improve their vocabulary, skills, and knowledge so that they can adapt themselves to this changing world. We are not only confined to textbooks; we have also designed our calendar, which benefits the students by helping them learn new things as well.

We have various extracurricular activities such as industrial visits, seminars, projects, and conference cells, and we also invite industrial experts to give industry-oriented information to the students as well as the faculty members so that they will be aware of the changes happening in various industries.

When you came to college, what was your vision and how are you trying to achieve the same?

My main vision is to make the students self-reliant so that they will be able to adapt and change themselves according to this world, as it will help them identify various things on their own in this modern world.

How do you help your student to cope up with the competition being so high in the outside world?

Yes, for this, we conduct various aptitude classes as well as various communication classes. Also, our faculty is well versed in modern software, which helps them learn new things and adapt to changes in this modern world.

What do you see as the department’s/ college’s greatest strengths and how it can be enhanced?

Our department's greatest strength is that we have well-versed and qualified faculty members, and they have 10+ years of experience, which helps the students in every aspect related to their studies and their problems, which motivates the students to learn more from them.

What valuable advice would you like to give to the students to have a prosperous career ahead?

I want the students to be ethical in every aspect as well as to have well-versed knowledge, as it will help them in their careers and help them reach greater heights.
