UCEED Exam Pattern 2024, Check Revised Pattern, Syllabus, Marking Scheme

UCEED Exam Pattern 2024 is released by Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT Bombay). Part A of UCEED 2024 is going to be conducted in online mode, and Part B is going to be conducted in offline mode. UCEED exam 2024 is conducted once in an academic year. Candidates will get a total 3 hours of time duration to complete UCEED 2024 entrance exam.

UCEED exam pattern 2024 includes total combined score of 300 (Part A and Part B). UCEED  2024 Part A question paper consists of 200 questions, and Part B question paper includes 100 questions in total. Candidates will get full marks of +4 for each correct response in Part A and +50 each for two questions in Part B. In UCEED 2024 exam, candidates will get negative marking for incorrect or unattempted answers in section 2 and 3 of Part A.

UCEED syllabus 2024 has been revised by IIT Bombay and is available on the official website at uceed.iitb.ac.in. UCEED syllabus 2024 is based on 10+2 standard. UCEED syllabus 2024 of Part A includes questions from 7 different topics, Part B consists questions from 2 different topics.

UCEED exam pattern 2024 consists of 1 question paper. However, the question paper itself is divided into 2 Parts : Part A and Part B, both of which are mandatory to be attempted. The details of parts are given below.

UCEED Exam Pattern 2024 Question Paper Structure

• UCEED exam pattern 2024 consists of a combined question paper (Part A and Part B)
• UCEED exam 2024 will be conducted for three hours time duration.
• Language of UCEED question paper 2024 will be in English
• Total combined (Part A and Part B) marks of UCEED exam 2024 is of 300.
• Question paper consists of two parts: Part-A and Part-B. Candidates must attempt questions from both the parts.
• The UCI Committee shall take a suitable final decision in case any error is detected in the question paper.

Part A Question Paper Structure

• Part A of UCEED 2024 exam will be conducted online and it will be computer-based test
• Part A consists of three types of questions (Numerical Answer Type, Multiple Select Question, and Multiple Choice Question)
• Total marks for Part A is 200
• Total time duration to complete Part A questions is of 2 hours

Numerical Answer Type (Section 1)

• In these type of questions, candidates must enter correct answers using a virtual keyboard on the computer screen.
• ​No choices will be shown in these type of question.

Multiple Select Question (Section 2)

The section has more than one correct responses. Candidates can check the below-mentioned marking criteria:

• Full Marks: + 4 If only (all) the correct option(s) is(are) chosen and NONE of the incorrect options is chosen.
• Partial Marks: + 3 If all the four options are correct but ONLY three options are chosen and NONE of the incorrect options is chosen.
• Partial Marks: + 2 If three or more options are correct but ONLY two options are chosen, both of which are correct and NONE of the incorrect options is chosen.
• Partial Marks: + 1 If two or more options are correct but ONLY one option is chosen and it is a correct option and NONE of the incorrect options is chosen.
• Zero Marks: 0 If none of the options is chosen (i.e., the question is unanswered).
• Negative Marks: -1 In all other cases.

Multiple Choice Question (Section 3)

• Section 3 consists of 28 questions
• Candidates will get 3 marks each for the correct response
• Students will get 0.71 negative marks for incorrect answers
• Each MCQ will have four choices and has one correct answer

Analytical and Logical Reasoning

UCEED 2024 Exam Day Instructions

Candidates are required to abide by the following points on the day of UCEED 2024 exam. Candidates are also advised to check UCEED 2024 official website time to time for checking any kind of changes as per below given instructions:

• Candidates must report by 7:00 AM on January 21, 2024
• Candidates must carry valid UCEED 2024 admit card and photo ID proof to enter inside the examination premises
• ID proof will and UCEED 2024 admit card will be required for biometric
• Invigilators as well as IIT representatives will verify identity proof of candidates
• Imitating will be considered as a criminal offence and candidates doing so will be disqualified straightway.
• No electronic devices (mobile phones, calculators, watches), log books, geometry box are permitted inside UCEED 2024 examiation hall
• Read the questions carefully and with full concentration since there might be time constraint if one wastes too much time on one question.
• Candidates must bring own pens, pencils, sketch pens and colours.
• Students must remain inside the examination hall till entire exam duration.
• Part A is computer-based test and candidates must inform prior to invigilator in case of any technical issues occur
• All three sections need to be attempted with equal zeal hence time distribution is very important to allot equal time to all three sections.
• Any questions which remain unattempted will be null and void so the score will improve with more questions attempted.
• Since the last section of Part A (MSQ) also carries negative marking, it will be advisable to invest more time on this section and try to make fewer mistakes on this section.
