DOTE Tamil Nadu has started the TNEA 2025 registration on May 7, 2025. The last date to register is June 6, 2025 and upload the documents by June 9, 2025. The TNEA registration form is available on the official website, tneaonline.org. 

Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions, or TNEA 2025, is the gateway to students being enrolled in B.E. and B.Tech degree courses from colleges of engineering of Tamil Nadu. Regulated by the Directorate of Technical Education or DoTE, the TNEA procedure operates purely on the basis of marks by candidates in their Class 12—there's no separate entrance examination.

Who is Eligible to Apply for TNEA 2025?

For admission to TNEA 2025, candidates need to fulfill certain academic and nativity requirements.

Nativity Rules

  • Students who pursued Classes 8 to 12 in Tamil Nadu are eligible without a nativity certificate.
  • Candidates who pursued their education from outside Tamil Nadu but belong to native status should submit a valid nativity certificate.
  • Children of the employees of the Central Government who have worked in Tamil Nadu for a minimum of five years are eligible.
  • Refugee students belonging to Sri Lankan Tamils can apply under some conditions by providing proper documentation.

Educational Requirements

Eligibility criteria include having passed Class 12 or a relevant exam with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as mandatory subjects.

Minimum marks needed:

  • General Category: 45% PCM aggregate
  • Reserved Categories (SC/SCA/ST): 40% PCM aggregate
  • A minimum of 60% PCM aggregate and 50% in English is required for Marine Engineering courses.
