After the completion of SNAP exam candidates proceed to the next stage which involves a personality assessment round. During this round, candidates are evaluated based on their communication skills, business acumen, and personal traits. The assessment comprises three components: Group Exercise (GE), Personal Interaction (PI), and Written Ability Test (WAT). These components play a crucial role in the selection process for admission to Symbiosis International (Deemed) University's constituent institutes, which offer MBA programs with various specializations.

It's worth noting that the SIBM or SNAP GE-PI-WAT round differs slightly from the selection process followed by other MBA colleges. Therefore, aspiring candidates must gain a thorough understanding of the GE-PI-WAT round in order to successfully navigate it.

How can I be shortlisted in SNAP?

You will be shortlisted for GD, PI and WAT based on the performance in the exam by various institutes. Depending on your performance in GE, PI, and WAT, MBA you can secure a seat in a college or program of your choice. Your leadership skills, communication skills, problem-solving abilities, etc. are test through these stages including SNAP group discussion.

SNAP Group Discussion

What happens in Group Discussion (GD)?

It is suggested to stay careful and alert while giving the answers in the form. Moreover, you are supposed to select the time slot for your interviews, thus it is recommended to book the slot at the earliest to get your preferred slot. The Group Exercise is mostly conducted in the second stage and in the second round for all SIU colleges. All the shortlisted candidates is going to be divided into a group of 5-6 candidates.

This round is further divided into two phases including Group Discussion and Group Exercise. During the GD, you are supposed to discuss the given topic and each group is then assigned a case study to discuss within all the concerns within that time. All groups have to discuss and come to a conclusion within 15 minutes.

The exercise aimed at testing your different skills like leadership skills and way of interaction with other group members. Marks is going to be given based on your presentation skills and how effectively you solve the issues of the case.

Why the Group Discussion is included in SNAP?

This stage is included to test the your ability to work in a group. How effectively you communicate and discuss your thoughts with fellow teammates is also judged. Through group discussion, your potential to handle the real-life managerial situation is also considered. It also checks how effectively you can work in a team. Also, your ability to stay positive and take the right decisions under pressure helps you in getting a good score.

How can I be good in group discussion?

If you want to enhance your group discussion ability then you need to stay updated about the current happenings. You can read newspapers regularly so that you don't fall short on content. Group Discussion is not only about talking and speaking out your opinion and thoughts. Rather it also includes listening, it is important to listen to other members’ opinion as well. While taking part in GD, be loud and assertive on points. Never try to prove others wrong in a GD. Always remember that it is not a debate but a group discussion and talks must go politely rather than pointing someone’s thoughts and ideas. While taking part in a GD, you are advised to focus on the team approach, their leadership and communication skills, logical reasoning, etc. Make sure you have enough facts, figures, and situations to support your content. Have a logical approach throughout the GD. Sit straight and maintain eye contact with other candidates participating in GD. Never interrupt someone in the middle. Being courteous to the other members is important, you need to wait for other group members to finish their statements. SNAP Written Ability Test

What is SNAP 2024 WAT (Written Ability Test)?

Writing Ability Test The WAT is usually conducted before the GE round. In this round, you are given a particular topic on which you are supposed to write a summary of an essay in a limited time frame. The summary must not exceed 100 words. Try to include the most important points. You are advised to practice essays on the current events of national and international importance. The skills that are tested through WAT include spontaneity, Creativity, and Clarity.

How to prepare for WAT?

As soon as you are given a particular topic, you are advised to first compile all your thoughts for the essay in your mind before penning down the same. WAT topics given in the test are more focused on the latest trends. Therefore, it is important to read the newspapers, latest trends and articles on India’s growth stories. You can read newspapers like the Economics Times, Hindu, or Business Standards on a regular basis. Make sure you go through the editorial sections of newspapers as well. Since this round is included to test the your language, articulation, and content, it is important to stay careful about what you write. While preparing for WAT or essay round, you can refer to the textbooks as well. WAT is a timed testing procedure, where you get a fixed time to present your thoughts on a given topic. SNAP Personal Interview

What happens in SNAP 2024 Personal Interview (PI)?

Similar to other MBA colleges, the SIU colleges also conduct personal interview (PI) round at the end of the day. You must go through their CV thoroughly as most of the questions based on your CV is going to be asked in this round. Also, stay updated about the current affairs, read newspapers and business magazines daily till the day of your GE-PIWAT as questions related to the activity that happened recent can also be asked. 

How to be prepared for PI?

Even in case you are not sure what kind of questions can be asked in the personal interview, you must always prepare your answers for general questions, such as current affairs, subjects from the course, etc. Revise all the subjects and important topic of your UG course as questions from the same can be asked during the interview round. Also, pay special attention to the recent budget and the current scenario of the Indian economy. Pay attention to your body posture as well. A good posture like sitting upright helps create an impression among the judges and is going to reflect your confidence level. Ques. Can I apply to Symbiosis Institutes after the SNAP result declaration?

The SNAP 2024 result will be declared on January 8, 2025. Most of the Symbiosis Institutes do not keep their application forms open till the day of SNAP result declaration.  SIBM Pune, SCMHRD, and a few others close their application forms prior to the exam date. Yes, merit scholarships are available for students admitted through SNAP. These freeships (0 tuition fee) are available to MBA students at all the institutions under SIU.  There are two kinds of such scholarships, and the eligibility criteria for these are- A merit scholarship is awarded to students who clear the SNAP exam and join a Symbiosis Institute. The top 0.1% of SNAP candidates are eligible for this scholarship. For students with 3 GPA in their respective semester, a merit scholarship is awarded in the next semester.
