SNAP 2024 Analytical & Logical Reasoning Preparation 2024: This section will test your ability to solve mathematical problems and how well you work out tricky problems. It consists of 25 questions, making it the section with the highest weightage out of the three (other sections have 20 and 15 questions). Each question in SNAP 2024 Analytical and Logical Reasoning carries one mark. There is no negative marking.

To prepare for SNAP Analytical and Logical Reasoning you need to build up the basics of all the chapters included in the analytical and logical reasoning section. You will get questions on visual reasoning, cause and effect, odd one out, Statement-Assumption, etc. The questions asked are usually moderate but maximum questions come from Analytical Reasoning. Check SNAP 2024 Syllabus for Reasoning, VARC and Aptitude

If you want to master this section, you need to pattern of the questions by analyzing the SNAP previous years’ question papers. Followed by this, you should practice as many questions as possible when your half of your syllabus is complete. SNAP 2024 Exam Pattern

Total duration of SNAP 2024 exam is 60 Minutes and students have to solve 60 questions in given time duration. So, Here is a big challenge of time management. Students have to allocate their exam duration section wise manner and they have to complete a particular section in particular time which is allocated by students themselves.

Basically, there are three sections in the SNAP 2024 exam. Which are mentioned below.

  • Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation and Data Sufficiency
  • Analytical and Logical Reasoning
  • General English

SNAP 2022 Analytical and Logical Section

SNAP 2024 Analytical and Logical Section

SNAP 2024 examination has three sections named Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation and Data Sufficiency, Analytical and Logical Reasoning and General English. What are the key highlights of SNAP 2024 Analytical and Logical Reasoning?

  • SNAP 2024 Analytical and Logical Reasoning is the most scoring section among all three sections.
  • The Section contains 25 Number of Questions in MCQ format.
  • Topics covered in this section is like Visual reasoning, Family Tree, Verbal reasoning, Arrangements, Calendar dates and Missing numbers.
  • Difficulty level of this section is easy to moderate and it is good news for students to get more marks in this section.
  • Last year 36 questions were asked from this section.
  • Each of the questions carries one mark. For incorrect responses, negative marking of 0.25 marks will be applied on that question.
  • So, For getting good marks in this section students must have to know the types of Analytical and logical questions and second is that they have to practise the papers related to analytics and logical reasoning questions.

SNAP 2024 Analytical and Logical Reasoning - How to Prepare?

  • Puzzle Type Questions: There are no shortcuts to solve such questions. Usually, such questions are almost always different in nature so candidates have to improvise the solution on their own.
  • Seating Arrangement Questions: Seating Arrangement questions consists of three main types of questions, Linear Arrangement, Circular Arrangement, and Rectangular Arrangement. In such questions candidates have to make sure they understand all the information presented in the statement and search for the crucial piece of information that gives the most concrete information.
  • Blood Relationships: Some of the common types of questions in this topic includes:
    • Mother’s/Father’s father – Grandfather (Maternal grandfather/Paternal grandfather).
    • Mother’s/Father’s mother – Grandmother (Maternal grandmother/Paternal grandmother)
    • Mother’s/Father’s brother – Uncle
    • Mother’s/Father’s Sister – Aunt
    • Wife’s father/husband’s father – father-in-law
    • Wife’s mother/husband’s mother – mother-in-law
    • Son’s wife – daughter-in-law
    • Daughter’s husband – son-in-law
    • Husband’s/wife’s brother – brother-in-law
    • Husband’s/wife’s sister – sister-in-law
    • Brother’s/sister’s son – nephew
    • Brother’s/sister’s daughter – niece
    • Uncle’s/Aunt’s son or daughter – cousin
    • Grand father’s (daughter-in-law) - Mother
    • Father’s son - Brother
    • Father’s daughter - Sister
    • Grand father’s son - Father / Uncle
    • Grand father’s only son(Same in the Case of Grandmother) - Father

Learning to draw family relations diagrams and identifying which are males and which are females the most important step in solving such questions.

  • Mathematical Reasoning - The most important aspect of this section is to understand the basics. Understand the formula and application for topics such as time & work, time and distance, progressions, basics of geometry, simple interest compound interest, profit and loss.
  • Cause and Effect - A simple tool to solve such questions is to use the Cause and Effect Analysis, also known as the fishbone diagram. It involves two steps, looking forwards and looking backwards. The first steps involve looking at the consequences of what happened in retrospect whereas the latter involves looking for steps to take in the future.
  • Analogy and Series - There are several types of analogies as given below:
  1. Letter/Word based analogy - pairs of similar sounding letters are given together and candidates have to find out similarities between the two.
  2. Number/Numerical Analogy - Similar to letter based analogies, candidates have to find the similarities between a pair of numbers.
  • Critical Reasoning - Critical Reasoning Questions consists of arguments, conclusions, facts and premises, assumptions and inferences. Candidates have to break the passages and analyse carefully. The options may seem contradictory, so it is important to understand the question properly.
  • Direction Sense - Such questions are asked based on two core principles, ie. Distance and Direction. Candidates have to start by understanding the direction chart. Another aspect candidates have to be thorough with is the concept of the Pythagorean Theorem.
  • Visual Reasoning - There are four types of such question:
  1. Find the next figure i.e. Analogy Type - candidates have to find out the fourth figure with the set of figures given to them.
  2. Figure Embedded
  3. Find the result i.e. Paper Folded
  • Meaningful words -     In this type of question, words are given that are usually jumbled and candidates have to form sensible words out of such questions.
  • Coding and Decoding - Basically, coding is when a message is encrypted in such a way that only the person with the code can understand it. Coding Decoding can be of the following types:
    1. Letter Coding
    2. Substitution
    3. Mixed Letter Coding
    4. Mixed Number Coding

The things that the candidate has to focus on are the pattern of the figures given, arrangements and the order (Ascending or Descending)

  • Clock and Calendars - Some important things to remember in such questions are:
  1. Minute Spaces - The face or dial of watch is a circle whose circumference is split into 60 equal parts, referred to as 60 seconds areas
  2. Every hour, both the hands coincide once.
  3. Hour Hand and Minute Hand: In 60 minutes, the minute hand extends 55 minutes on the hour on the hour hand
  • Syllogisms - Syllogisms are basically conclusions or inferences that the candidates have to draw from the given passages. It is usually in three parts, Major premise, Minor premise, and Conclusion.
  • Easy topics in Reasoning Section: Generally, candidates find the following topics easier to solve -
      1. Odd Pair,
      2. Analogy,
      3. Directions,
      4. Alphabet Series And
      5. Number Series.
  • Time Consuming Topics: Given below are some of the more difficult and time consuming topics for The Analytical and Logical Reasoning Section:
    1. Seating arrangement,
    2. complex puzzles,
    3. input-output machine

SNAP 2022 ALR Sample Questions

SNAP 2024 Preparation Books for Analytics & Logical Reasoning Sample Questions

Here, Some previous year questions are mentioned below just for a better understanding of a section. So, students are aware of the types of questions and how to solve it.

Question 1. Here is a vertical stack of books put on a table and books are numbered as 1,2, and 3 . Now, these books are placed vertically from table 1 to table 2 by putting 1st book on the bottom and 2nd book is on top. Now during a movement, either a top most book or top most two books or All three books are moved from one table to another table. Now if other books are available on another table then stack being transferred should be placed on the top of the existing books. And if there are no books on another table then we put the books simple without disturbing their order. So, What is the minimum number of moves in which the above task will be accomplished?

  1. One
  2. Two
  3. Three
  4. Four

Answer :- So , for counting the steps we have to do above mentioned operations. So the 1st move is to place book 3 from Table A to Table B. Now the 2nd move is to place book 2 from Table A to Table B . The 3rd move is to place book 3 and book 2 from Table B to Table A . Now the final move is to place book 3,2 and 1 from Table A to Table B respectively. So correct Option is an Option D .

Question 2. “X+Y” means X is a daughter of Y , “X*Y” means X is a son of Y and “X-Y” means X is a Wife of Y.If P*Q then which of the following is true ?

  1. R is a Father of P
  2. R is a wife of Q
  3. Q is father of P
  4. None of these

Answer:- Well, here P*Q means P is a son of Q then automatically we can say that Q is a Father of P. So Option C is correct.
