KEAM Marks vs Rank 2024: The analysis of KEAM marks vs rank provides insights on the expected rank range based on marks secured in the KEAM exam. Before moving on with the marks vs rank analysis, it is important to understand some points about rank calculation. CEE Kerala awards equal weightage to KEAM scores and class 12th PCM/B scores for rank allocation. KEAM 2024 marks considered for rank allocation are computed out of 600- KEAM normalized score out of 300 (the actual exam total marks are 600) and standardized class 12 marks out of 300.

As per the expert analysis of KEAM marks vs rank, a score above 500 is considered good to get a rank below 5000 in KEAM 2024. With a rank below 5000, you have high chances of admission to the top branches like CSE, ECE, CE, ME in the top government engineering colleges in Kerala. KEAM Normalization of Marks

KEAM Normalization of Marks

KEAM 2024 is scheduled in multiple shifts from June 5 to June 9, 2024. To ensure that no candidate is at a disadvantage due to the variations in the difficulty level across various shifts, the normalization process is followed. We have illustrated below the detailed KEAM score normalization process using the Percentile Interpolated Average Method.

STEP 1: Conversion of raw marks to percentile scores for each session

KEAM Rank List

KEAM Rank List 2024

KEAM rank list 2024 is prepared by the authorities for the engineering courses after the declaration of the results. For KEAM rank list 2024, CEE will award an equal weightage of 50:50 to the normalized KEAM scores out of 300 and the standardized class 12th qualifying marks out of 300.

  • In case the student has not studied Chemistry in class 12 or equivalent examination, then Computer Science marks will be considered.
  • If computer science is also not studied, then Biotechnology marks will be considered and finally, if biotechnology is also not studied, then biology marks will be taken.
  • If the concerned class 12 board issues CGPA instead of marks, then the student needs to submit the details of the equivalent marks from the respective board.
  • The marks secured in the 10+2 qualifying exam will be standardized using the formula:

where MBj and SBj denote the Mean and Standard Deviation of the marks out of 100 of all students passed in a subject, XBj is the mark out of 100 of a student for the subject, and SG and MG denote the global or combined Mean and Standard Deviation of the marks

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Ques. Is 300 out of 600 a good mark in KEAM?

Ans. 300 out of 600 is not a very good score in KEAM if you are looking for admission to the top engineering colleges. 300 marks in KEAM are equivalent to a rank below 50000 which is low and the chances of admission to the KEAM score accepting colleges at these marks are negligible. You should aim for at least 450+ marks in KEAM 2024 to secure admission to the top government engineering colleges like the College of Engineering, Alapuzzha, MES College of Engineering, M A College of Engineering, Kothamangalam, etc.

Ques. How many marks are required to get 5000 rank in KEAM?

Ans. To get a rank of 5000 and below in KEAM, you need to aim for at least a 500+ in the entrance examination. With a KEAM rank 5000 and below, you have a sureshot admission chance in almost every engineering branch and college.

Ques. What will be my rank if I score 400 in KEAM?

Ans. If one scores 400 in KEAM, then the equivalent rank will be around 20,000. Going by last year’s KEAM cut off ranks, 400 marks or a rank around 20000 is good to get admission to some of the top engineering branches. For example, KEAM cut off rank for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science in College of Engineering, Karunagappally was 17509 for the State Merit category. It is highly recommended to aim for a score of 450+ to get a seat in one of the best colleges in Kerala through KEAM counselling 2024.

Ques. Is 260 a good score in KEAM?

Ans. 260 is not a very good score in KEAM. Based on KEAM marks vs rank analysis by experts, a score of 260 corresponds to a rank above 50,000. Such a rank will make it extremely hard for the student to get acceptance in a good engineering college.

Ques. What rank is 150 marks in KEAM?

Ans. 150 marks is a very low score in KEAM. It will get you a rank above 60,000 - 70,000 making it extremely difficult to get into the engineering college.

Ques. Is 100 a good score in KEAM?

Ans. One must not aim for a score below 400 as anything below 400 will not get the student a good college. 100 is extremely low in KEAM and will get the student a rank above 70,000 thereby making it nearly impossible to get admission in any college.
