Marks to Qualify AP PGECET exam

What Mark do I Have to Get to Qualify for the AP PGECET exam?

You need to secure at least 25% of the total marks to qualify for the AP PGECET exam. The total mark is 120 so you need to secure at least 30 marks to be qualified. However, there are no minimum qualifying marks for reserved candidates. The marks obtained by reserved category students because of the relaxation of the minimum qualifying marks will be cancelled in case the claim is found false at the time of admission.

What is the Difference Between AP PGECET Results and Rank Card?

The exam authority releases rank cards separately after the announcement of the result. You can get a position in the rank list only if you qualify for the exam. The rank card consists of your name, your father’s name, your AP PGECET test paper, your rank, score, percentile and qualifying remarks. The merit list or rank card will be released in July 2024 in PDF format. Both overall rank and category-wise rank will be mentioned in the rank list. You need to download the rank card and print it out as you will need it at the time of counselling and seat allotment.

What is the Difference Between AP PGECET Score and Percentile?

You need to secure 25% out of the total marks to qualify AP PGECET exam. You can calculate your score using the answer key and response sheet. As per the marking scheme, a +1 mark is given for each correct answer and no negative mark is there in the examination. Therefore you need to add marks for your correct response and the total mark is your raw marks. On the other hand, percentile refers to the percentage of candidates behind you in the exam based on rank. The lower your rank is the higher your percentage will be. For instance, if you got 1st rank then your percentile will be 100.

Tie Situation in AP PGECET Result

How the Exam Authority Deals With Tie Situation?

Sometimes two or more candidates get the same marks which leads to a tie in the result and merit list. In order to deal with such a situation, the authority has made some rules.

  • If you get more marks in the qualifying degree examination then you will get the first preference over the other candidates with equal marks.
  • In case all the candidates with equal marks have secured equal marks in the qualifying degree examination too, the candidates older in age will get the first preference.
  • In case the candidates are of the same age, then the tie will be broken by a draw of lots.

AP PGECET Counselling

How Can I Participate in AP PGECET Counselling 2024?

Once you qualify AP PGECET exam 2024 you need to participate in the counselling which will take place in July 2024. The counselling will be conducted in two rounds and it will be conducted separately for GATE and AP PGECET-qualified candidates. You need to register online for the counselling and after the document verification and fee submission you will be able to participate in the counselling process. The counselling process has four stages such as registration, document verification, choice filling and seat allotment.

Step 1: Registration Process

You have to visit the official website cets.apsche.ap.gov.in/PGECET to register. General category students are required to pay an INR 1000 registration fee but the fee is INR 500 for reserved category candidates. You can make the payment online through debit card, credit card or net banking.

Step 2: Document verification

After the registration, your documents will be verified by the concerned authorities. You need to upload some important documents listed below.

  • Admit Card
  • Rank card
  • SSC/Intermediate Diploma/Degree Marksheet
  • Pass certificate from class 10 to graduation
  • Residence certificate
  • Integrated community certificate
  • Income certificate
  • Transfer certificate

Step 3: Choice Filling

After the document verification, you will receive a registration ID and after that, you will need to set a password. You can log in using these credentials and get an OTP for verification. You need to choose your desired courses and colleges. Locking the choices is necessary to proceed to the next stage.

Step 4: Seat Allotment

In the seat allotment process, a seat will be allotted to you based on your preferences, availability of seats and your AP PGECET score. After the seat allotment, you are allowed to modify or freeze your choices. After the seat allotment candidates are required to report to their respective allotted college with all the required documents.
