The college organises a yearly fest which includes cultural as well as academic competitions where you can learn new things. along with that, you may participate in inter-college activities inside the du. The college also offered different societies which offer their own fests. the college is tied up with new smart classes and is very useful in the teaching-learning process.

Fees and Financial Aid:

Yearly the fees for the course were 24 -25k with the exam fees paid separately. the fees were somewhat justified as it is a practical subject but compared to another subject in du the fees are comparatively higher. the college provided with financial aids to the needy on submission of proper documents if they need financial aid.

One thing I liked about the college is lecturers are very friendly. They try their every possible way to help in our studies. They are highly qualified too. They are easily approachable.Always ready to help the students out. They help a lot for practical works. They try to teach the very little things that matters for our studies.Lab assistance is also good. Faculties are always concerned about opportunities for us. They provide that friendly environment a student wish for.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course is CBCS curriculum. The method of teaching is good. The course is structured in such a way that it is going to help in further NET examination. So much content in course which going to help in future examination. But the only problem is that the course has vast content for per semester. The papers should be in a certain kind of combination that would be better for the students to complete the course within the limited time period.

Talking about the the Geology Department, all the teachers are phD holders with high nos. if published papers. They are the most genuine amd humble teachers I've ever came across. You can go to them anytime and that's a surety that you won't come back disappointed. There is nothing like partiality the first bencher and the last bencher are treated equally. Teachers are extremely friendly and helpful in fields too. Even if you want any guidance regarding future you can go to them anytime or mail them or just drop a text on WhatsApp and they will help you to their best.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Since the most important aspect of our course is field Work, what can be better than experiencing field Works in the Himalayas. Himalayas are the best place to apply your theoritical knowledge to the field. Not only field living in Himalayas means every single second you are watching and learning something about Geology. Improvement can be done in increasing the numbers of field works, we go for 14days field training twice in the course.

If I consider my department there are forty faculties, largest in the country. There are around 120 students in masters including both the years and 100+ research scholars under different faculty members. There is no question about qualification and experience of teachers here in BHU .They are very best in their fields.I had a lot of interaction with them as I have completed my bachelors too from here only and they are very supportive.

Fees and Financial Aid:

The fee is minimal like 3500 for a year . This is regarding tution fee and you don't have to pay additional charge .There are scholarships funded by Members of Eminence and scholarship funded by university itself for poor and underprivileged students. You will get sufficient amount at around 10 thousand to 20 thousand per year to cover your tution and hostel charges

Course Curriculum Overview:

I appeared CUET 2023 and I always wanted to be enrolled in a North-Eastern Central University and when I was searching for one, I saw Mizoram University who stood at the Top 1 University of North-East and I also got suggestions from alumni to join here. The curriculum and the syllabus is enough for any competitive exam plus you'll get good explanation, to the point material and no tiring(boring) lectures. Everything is on point and you'll have a great exposure to all the leading research institutions for geology, as it is my field that's why I know. Internal exams are held every 1.5 months and they are moderately hard. The MCQs that the professors prepare are competitive exam oriented.

Fees and Financial Aid:

The fee structure is like any other Universities. The first year fees will be around 9120 INR and after completion of First Semester the Second Semester fees will be around 5150 INR. It encompasses the medical fees, transportation fees, sports fees, gym fees etc. There is a health centre which is available 24*7 and buses running to and fro inside the University campus as well as to the city which is also a part of the semester fees. No additional fees is taken other than the above mentioned money. Centrally sponsored scholarships are available that you can apply in the first year like UGC etc.

DU has so many fests in the month of February to april. And every college and departments have their own societies so students can be part of gbese societies and get a platform to know his/her hidden talent by exploring in the events. Even, i will say, DU has the best social life on and off campus and because of it, every student who gets graduated from here have two things in common that are confidence and communication skills.

Fees and Financial Aid:

They take only 18k per year that is bit affordable. There is no such hike scene in DU, if it happens, our student union is so powerful that it went down again. University and department has its own scholarship too that given on the basis of merit and numerous government scholarship also come like nsp, ongc foundation scholarship etc. that also notifies by the department on time. But there is no placement facility on campus.

Here the faculty is very much qualified and have their Phd in top universities of the world like MIT, Harvard etc. The term exam is very much from time to time and it is quite hard to pass the exam but if you study every day than it would not be that much difficult

There is no fest or tech fest conducted at the university. The department of earth and environmental science has a library for the students. Also, there is a big library at the university. I did not find many books on geology in the university library but the faculty helps you to get those. Classrooms are equipped with all the smart facilities like smart boards, projectors, and comfortable seats for the students to sit. Talking about sports, there are no such facilities for sports. University has a sports complex with just 2 badminton courts. Rather than this, there is not even a proper ground for students to forget about sports competitions. Regular competitions like photography and art are conducted at the university. There are no social groups, clubs, or any website run by the students in the university.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose M.Sc. (Geology) because I had found this subject of geology fascinating in my graduation. University has situated in the outskirts of town Bhuj in district Kutch, Gujarat. Kutch is a sedimentary basin from the quaternary time period therefore doing masters from here gives you an upper edge advantage as there is lot of field opportunities. The faculty: student ratio in our batch was 1:12. All the faculty is doctorate holding but maximum classes are taken by research scholars. The department has smart classrooms, geological museum, petrology labs, a Gis lab and all the facilities. Semester exams were held on time except the 4th semester exams which got late due to covid. The difficulty of the exams was moderate on the scale of easy to hard.

Ques. How is geology in IIT Bhubaneswar ?

● Top Answer By Priti Bansal on 13 Aug 20

Ans. Very few IITs in India offer Geology and all of them follow the same curriculum. The faculties at IIT Bhubaneswar is well qualified and experienced. Given below are a few advantages of choosing geology at IIT Bhubaneswar:- One of the parts of the IIT Bhubaneswar campus is close to Chilka lake, which is used for ocean and navel geology based courses, it is probably the only IIT in the country with such practical facilities available. Being one of the most culturally effervescent cities in the country and having a tropical savanna climate, Bhubaneswar is the most suitable for the field of climate and ocean research. There are a large number of elective courses of the geology department that are available in IIT Bhubaneswar with a few notable ones being Glacial Geoscience, Modelling and Stimulation, and many others. There are about 11 elective courses in MSc Geology each having 3 contact hours and 3 credits and divided between semesters(I and II) and (III and IV). The first two semesters have courses like environmental earth sciences and the 3rd and 4th semesters have courses like organic geochemistry.Read more

Ques. IIT Bhubaneswar or NIT Rourkela: Which one should I choose for a Master’s in Geology?

● Top Answer By Upasana on 11 Jul 24

Ans. As a former student of MSc. Geology at IIT Bhubaneswar, I am going to shed some light on my department/institution: IIT Bhubaneswar offers an MSc. Geology program under the School of Earth, Ocean, and Climate Sciences.  The program's objective is to give students extensive instructions and training in Earth, Ocean, and Climate Sciences, including both basic and applied topics.  Additionally, students can also engage in innovative Earth System science research.  We have excellent faculty members at our department who are indulged in high-quality research.  The department students are indulged in workshops, presentations, and academic conferences at top institutes.  Last year, i.e. in 2023, the students of our department won the 1st prize in an oral presentation at the Research & Industrial Conclave, IIT Guwahati.  Based on these factors, I can assure you that joining IIT Bhubaneswar for an MSc. in Geology is a good idea.Read more
