The Institute of Company Secretaries of India, constituted under the Company Secretaries Act, 1980, is a government recognized body that produces Company Secretaries in India. Candidates are required to complete a comprehensive 3-level Company Secretary course to earn an ICSI membership.
The CS Executive Exam or CSEET Exam takes place in 4 sessions which are January Session, May Session, July Session and November Session. The CSEET exam is scheduled for January 6, 2024.

CS Admission Process
Candidates who are eager to join the course after passing 10 + 2 or equivalent must pass three levels to pursue the Company Secretariat Courses, which are mentioned below
Candidates must complete a computer-based MCQ CS Foundation test for the CS Foundation program. The test lasts for 1 hour and 30 minutes. The exam is further divided into four level tests. The first two tests consist of 100 MCQs which are conducted on the same day. The other two tests consisting of 100 MCQs are conducted the next day. The exam can be attempted in both English and Hindi.
The Institute of Corporate Secretaries of India (ICSI) conducts CS Executive exams nationwide in offline mode twice a year: once in June and then another one is conducted in December.
The Institute of Corporate Secretaries of India (ICSI) accepts applications for the whole year and applicants are advised to check the closing date before submitting the application. The special CS registration for the June session is open until January. The registration fee for the CS Professional Programme is INR 12,000.
CS Foundation Eligibility
Candidates wishing to apply for the CS Foundation course should ensure that they must fall under the following. Aspirants who wish to apply for admission to the CS Foundation course must ensure that they fulfil the eligibility criteria. The candidates can re-check the criteria mentioned below:
- Students must have passed Class XII or a similar exam at an accredited board/university.
- ICSI has not provided any average minimum score percentage in the second level for registration at the CS Foundation exam.
- Students who are still in Grades 10 + 2 are eligible for the ICSI CS Foundation program.

CS Executive Eligibility
Mentioned below are the eligibility criteria that must be considered while applying for CS Executive Programme.
- Candidates must have scored more than 40% in CS Foundation Exam
- Candidates who have not applied for CS Foundation Programme are only eligible to apply if they have an undergraduate degree.
- To apply, candidates must be at least 17 years old
- If a candidate enters through the CSET route, clearing the CSET entry check is mandatory.

CS Professional Programme Eligibility Process
Before registering for CS Professional exams, candidates should consult the valid criteria set by ICSI. Mentioned below are the criteria set by ICSI
- The only basic requirement for CS Professional is to pass in CS Executive exams (both modules) with a minimum passing score determined by ICSI.
- Currently, to be eligible for the CS Executive exam, students must score 40% in each subject and 50%.

CSEET Exam
The CSEET exam has replaced the CS Foundation exam. It is a Computer Based Test of 120 minutes with a viva voice of 15 minutes duration. The computer-based test will have four parts viz. Business Communication, Legal Aptitude & Logical Reasoning, Economic & Business Environment, and Current Affairs. The viva voice will test the candidate on Presentation and Communication skills.
CS Foundation Exam
The CS Foundation exam consists of 4 papers. Each paper comprises 100 marks combined with a total of 400. 250 MCQs need to be completed in 90 minutes by the candidates. The exam is conducted in CBT(Computer Based Test) mode.

CS Executive Exam
Candidates have to go through the CSEET exam to be eligible for the CS Executive exam. Candidates with a UG or PG degree can apply for this entrance.
