Fest I experienced at iit delhi is rdv(cultural fest) happened in October and tryst(technical fest) happened in march. The library is quite good like all the books required can be issued from there even there is a ebook alternative too. Clubs and sports are a great alternative to pass your time And there are all the sports we can think of even hockey aquatics etc. also clubs like dance drama and they even have spic macay ensuring diversity. All the clubs are run by student with just one faculty guiding and is at the top

Faculty

Faculty to student ratio is about 1:600 in some classes and 1:300 in some. The teaching methods are so bad that some student after passing the course dont even know the name of faculty who taught the course. They just come in class to fullfill 75% criteria. The exams depend on the professor some professor set difficult paper so the average does down and professors give 6 grade on average while others give 7 if average is higher.

Course Curriculum Overview

When choosing my specific course the aspects of curriculum that most influenced my decision were it strong and emphasis on practical learning like it has practical project and coding skills and programming language. That was the thing I would like about my field and it has real time world applications through case studies and relevant projects

Faculty

The faculty was good enough in teaching experience and also they would teach in their topics in their native language rather than explaining in it in english few students wouldn't understand anything if teacher's speak their native language. And faculty would do partiality among their favourite students

Course Curriculum Overview

I personally chose B.Tech in textile technology as it is relatively a very light coursework degree compared to other departments. Also this was the best I could get from my JEE Rank. The curriculum is very well curated and is difficult, rich in knowledge and provides world class knowledge of the fundamentals as well as recent advancements in different aspects of technology. The first 2-3 years are more focussed on providing fundamental knowledge of the domain, though I would suggest that the curriculum needs to also teach about standard industry practices of today, especially during practicals. The creator of Fastag, who was from IIT Delhi, stated that FasTag was created solely from the knowledge he gained in IIT Delhi. Exams are challenging and difficult. Depending on the course policy, quizzes are held every 2 weeks on an average. Exams are allotted mostly in the day, early morning or even evening.

Faculty

Faculty to student ratio is 1:8, with around 650 faculty members from all departments. Each professor is unique and incredibly knowledge and experienced in their own departments, often having PhDs from foreign universities. Almost all professors are approachable and love talking with students over various research topics and often take students under them for research projects. I liked Tarak Karmakar sir from Department of Chemistry, Sisisr Debnath sir from humanities department and Vikrant sir from Department of Materials sciences. As of now I don't dislike any faculty in particular, everyone is great in their own way and have different sets of beliefs. There are week long marathons of exams twice in a semester, mid semester exams and end semester exams. Each individual course also has different number of quizzes, depending on the course policy created by the course coordinator.

Faculty ratio is 30:1.professors are interactive and helpful Every course have some really good professors Some professors are really strict regarding attendance and other things and are not flexible There are majorly 4types of exam 2quizes and two exams. They are not too tough but not too trivial either you need to be well prepared to tackle them

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is based on textile which i think is a growing sector and very useful for the society. The research sector in this is very vast where one can innovate new materials The frequency of exams is like after every 25days exams come

It gives us insight on deep and practical knowledge on textile industry which keeps us all intrested and very much active in studies and other activities. As it provides general practical knowledge it gives us real world applications pr further academic pursuits They can really put some efforts on management suite and other factors Exams are not too difficult to crack if you study wisely

Faculty

Faculties are very much supportive and approachable towards students and one can easily solve its problems with the help of students. Textile fibre faculty is very supportive towards students and they teach us very easily. FM faculty does not provide us very deep knowledge which creates problems in exams There are CTS and then end sem exam.

Faculty

The Faculty at IIT delhi is absolutely amazing . The amount of knowledge they possess is immense. Professors from all around the world and the nation teach at IITD. The faculty at IITD is very approachable. Although it is not sometimes possible to ask a doubt in the class . But after classes the profs can be contacted. And special doubt classes are also provided. Some Profs which i personally like are Abhishek Dixit sir and Biplab Basak sir. Some Profs which I dislike are Saswata Bhattacharya and Joyee Ghosh

In a particular course, many professors collaborate with each other to complete the course. Also there are teaching assistant that help in the course and the course coordinator leads it. Yoyouwill have a very awesome experience studying with these professors

Course Curriculum Overview

-Because there is demands of Textile engineerings so I choose this branch. In Rajasthan this college is only one college where you can get degree in Textile engineering. -Our college have all machinary that are available in industry. So teachers teaches us about everything how cloths are made. -We need some new machines because we have old version of machines . We have to give three exams in one semester. Fees and Financial Aid

At each semester i paid ?9000 as i was first graduate student and ?1200 as exam fees. Otherwise the fees would be about 15000 to 18000 for other categories and for SC/ST students there are many scholarships available. For me the fees structure would be, 1. Tuition Fee - 0 2. Development Fee - 2,600 3. Library Fee - 650 4. Computer Charges - 1,200 5. Lab Contigency Charges - 1,200 6. Educational Media Charges - 500 7. Internet Society Fee - 270 8. Sports & Games Fee - 200 9. University Cultural & Professional Society fee - 500 10. Student Accident & Medical Relief Fund - 500 11. Registration & Enrollment Fee - 800 12. YRC / Army Flag day Subscription - 15 13. Sports Affiliation Fee - 65 14. Industrial Visit - 500

Faculty

The Faculty to student relationship are generally normal and its not same with all the staff. Most of the staffs are generally friendly and lenient, rarely few staffs are strict. Approximately there are 5 to 6 exams per semester, the exams are usually moderate not very difficult, if you studied enough it would be easy. In my overall exams in this course, there were only 2 to 4 exam that where difficult so nearly 5 out of 40 members would have arrear.

Faculty

The faculty ratio in my branch is nearly 1:10. Some teachers are very rude and egoistic. Best faculty is MR. MANOJ KUMAR NANDA, he is very humble and polite towards each and every student. Also, he guides student in their proper development. I don't like MR. ASHVANI GOYAL that much as he is our department head so he regularly warns students that if something indisciplinary happened regarding him, he will take revenge during placement period. In each sem, we have 5-6 exams, neither very easy nor very difficult

Course Curriculum Overview

I have found that in this course or specific branch, I would have a job guarantee but it will be quite difficult as it has more physical work required in initial stages. They prepare us by guiding about the frequently asked questions in placement cell and by regular industry visits. They should clear doubts one on one interaction. The exam period lasts about 15 days excluding practicals.

Faculty

Uhh... Firstly please explain what is Faculty to student ratio?.... Talking about relationship between them, Some professors are really good and have helping attitude towards students but some are not they feel proud of saying that "Last year, I have failed 50% of the class in this course". Many 4th year student degrees were extended by failing them in the course just by 2-3 marks....I can't share names of the professors. There are Minor and Major exams in IIT Delhi. Difficulty is medium to difficult never easy.

Course Curriculum Overview

I haven't chose textile as I want to get into IITD because of entrepreneurship culture. Honestly, Textile Technology course is not so good as its content is outdated I feel to the current advancements of the technology. They could include AI/ML based Textile course content, and not to reach too old industry knowledge, they could shift it to Business perspective as Textile industry is huge. Exams are quizzes, assignments, Minor and Major.

Ques. Is it a good choice to prefer IIT Delhi textile over IIIT Delhi CSE, considering the fact that branch change is quite hard in IITD?

● Top Answer By Sanjana Kapoor on 04 Oct 23

Ans. IIT Delhi has a much greater brand value as compared to IIIT Delhi. IIT D is superior in many aspects, one of which is campus life.  I have many friends in IITD Textile. They bagged foreign internships in the IT sector during their second year. The coursework for Textile is very manageable. You’ll get ample time to practice coding on your own. Don’t worry about branch change. Even for a career in CS/IT, self-practice will get you through. Also, opt for the open electives offered at IIT Delhi. You’ll ace CS/IT placement tests, and secure a good job. Thus, I would recommend you choose IIT Delhi Textile over IIIT Delhi CSE. Read more

Ques. Which is better, IIT Delhi Textile Technology or NIT Delhi CSE (considering I have a very high interest in programming)?

● Top Answer By Yash Mehra on 10 Apr 23

Ans. Both institutes are well known for their excellent education and opportunities offered. So you can choose the branch and college on the basis of your own preferences. However, some points you might want or consider Campus : NIT Delhi operates from a temporary campus which is located far away from the country and its permanent campus is still under construction. IIT Delhi on the other hand is a fully-fledged established Institute with a fully functioning well facilitated campus. Placements : Although Textile Engineering has very few core job opportunities, people tend to go for non-core jobs instead to secure a high-paying job at a top company. Meanwhile, NIT Delhi being younger than IIT Delhi has fewer companies visiting campus with CS roles despite being a demanded branch. If you are actually keen to pursue CSE, go for better Engineering colleges like NITs, DTU, NSIT, and IIIT D. In fact even at IIT Delhi, you can pursue your coding passion alongside your main branch textile and sit for IT placements. The final decision is yours to make and you can consider additional aspects like fees, location, and academics while making your decision.Read more

Ques. What should I take among IIT Delhi textile, IIT Kharagpur biotechnology, and IIT Guwahati engineering physics?

● Top Answer By Akriti Banerjee on 10 Apr 23

Ans. The choice of college and branch totally depends on your inclination and career prospects. Yet, a few pointers you might consider  For MBA/ non-core jobs/Startups: IIT Delhi Textile is the best choice if you are looking for any 3 of these options. Its excellent location provides enough exposure to give you access to unimaginable opportunities. Many events hosted by industry experts, CEOs of big companies, and successful entrepreneurs will give a better insight into the startup culture. Moreover, students preparing for competing exams can easily access coaching centers nearby. Research in Biotechnology: If you are interested in research in general or Biotechnology specifically, then the Biotechnology at KGP is an excellent choice. It is one of the most demanding fields in terms of research and general growth. With a good CGPA, you can find a research internship or you can apply for MS or Ph.D. Even job opportunities are plentiful.  Campus: IIT Delhi is better because of its small size and location Lastly, Engineering Physics from IIT Guwahati should be considered only if you are genuinely passionate about Physics and want to pursue a research career in the same. The curriculum comprises high-tech mathematical concepts and is a good option to pursue a career in economics and computer science.Read more

Ques. Which one will be better, textile engineering in VJTI or CS from KJ Somaiya?

● Top Answer By Suranjana Bhattacharya on 08 Jul 21

Ans. Out of textile engineering from VJTI and CS from KJ Somaiya, CS from Somaiya will be a better choice. As one of my friends studied there, I am able to share some facts about it. CSE is a trending branch and the most popular one. The best option for you will be KJ Somaiya. When it comes to placement at KJ Somaiya, they are decent. A total of 70 companies visited the campus for on-campus placements and offered great salary packages. The campus life at KJ Somaiya is amazing and is very welcoming. KJ Somaiya is an autonomous college and there are many advantages of being from a college with an autonomous status. Categories Textile Engineering at VJTI CS at KJ Somaiya Course Fee 3.24 lakhs 13.80 lakhs Highest CTC 18-19 LPA 23 LPA Average CTC 4-5 LPA 15 LPA Recruiting Companies Pantaloons, Raymond, Reliance, Amazon, etc. Capgemini, KPMG, Morgan Stanley, Wipro, etc. Choosing textile engineering from the VJTI can get a bit tricky further in your career. Ques. Which course is better for higher studies, textiles at IIT Delhi or chemical at IIT BHU?

● Top Answer By Prajukta Ghose on 06 Apr 23

Ans. Ranking-wise the preference order of the above-mentioned courses is  IIT Delhi > IIT Kanpur > IIT Roorkee > IIT BHU Based on their closing rank, the branches can be arranged in the following order  Chemical>Metallurgy>Textile  This was based on general data, but if you have an inclination towards a specific branch, then go for it without much hesitation. Your passion will keep you motivated despite various challenges thrown at you. But in case you have no specific preference, then you can consider the college and branch ranking to make an informed decision. Apart from CS and Electrical, students from most branches opt for non-core jobs which require much more than their core academics for placements. In that case, you can prefer IIT BHU over IIT Roorkee. Ultimately, the final decision is yours to make. Choose wisely considering various factors like location, friends, etc,Read more
