Mu College has so many capable professors that I feel blessed to be taught by them. We have upsc qualified teachers, PhD teachers, and novel prize winner teachers. But still, some teachers are very despicable. But it's fine you just need to attend their classes and royally ignore them. There are no issues with Attendance unless it's less than 40 percent. Teachers give you marks well and good, even if you didn't give any viva (don't learn these bad habits from me). Teachers are very approachable too. But you just need to learn for yourself which teacher's personality is good.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Okay so, I Love History. And DU is very good for UPSC preparations; so my college even has upsc society wherein students are being prepared for the exam and different and high class coaching company comes to guid you personally. They even provide you study material, test series etc. Various seminars are held for the preparation and motivation too and various ias officer are also invited. Now, comes to the exam of du. They are so simple, you just need to study from pyqs and boom you passed. Teachers pay attention to your class test marks and ask for improvement.

There are many fests and that go on throughout the year. Certain fests are of the sort that everyone can be a part of. Generally, fests are held between February to April. They are one of the best months to be in college. Moreover, Delhi is a good place to be in except for months of extreme weather. Therefore the social life, career, and hanging up after college a good things. The infrastructure is pretty small in DCAC but other colleges do not disappoint. So the other colleges host singers and actors from Bollywood like Sunidi Chauhan and Shreya Ghoshal. The campus is small so nothing to talk about.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum of CBCS LOCF is set on a long-term model. With the penultimate batch to get passed out on the old educational policy, the course is well set to put the students in a manner so that they can get their noses on from in competitive examinations like CUET PG and UGC NET. Thus the syllabus is apt and any student who is willing to pursue their career is well set to get placed into a good University for further studies.

There are sports events also that organised time to time and many students make their way out to national and olympic games

The annual fee is 17500. I am impressed with MGSU's commitment to making higher education accessible and affordable. The fee structure is reasonable and transparent, with a clear breakdown of costs. What's even more impressive is the college's generosity in offering value scholarships, financial assistance programs, and campus employment opportunities.

Various sports and extracurricular activities like the NCC cadets preparation, various societies are available. There are various student run societies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum was precisely made with enhanced learning at each step. Further this curriculum strengthened my research, writing, and learning skills. Although, more focus should be given on a student's understanding rather than learning within the curriculum. The exams difficulty level was quite moderate and frequency was very convenient.

I choose history. And I think it's a very good and knowledgeable course to study. You get to know about your past, which you can easily understand, and get to know the truth about what actually happened. There are many myths regarding history but when you read you get to know the real truth. As a career you can prepare for competitive exams, teachers or professors is also a good career option

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:

For BA Hons., there was not much fees as compared to other colleges. It was around 7000 along with examination fees. People who belong to other categories and regions get scholarships regards their eligibility. If I talk about employment opportunities in BA there's no placement and all. You must have some extra skills if you want to get employed. The degree is not fine for getting employed.

Our campus is very viberant, we host our annual cultural fest, Tarang along with other department annual academic meet. All the department have different fest in their department with seminar, lecture and other workshops. Even the societies of campus have their own fest, like REACH equal opportunity cell have Parwaz as their fest. We have two libraries one is general, and another is refernce with wide range of book, journal, newspaper, etc. Various societies are there which help students to build extra skills and experience other than academics. These help to develop confidence, public speaking, debate skills, writing and other skills.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In the history exam, we have to attempt four questions out of eight, and thier difficulty level is moderate. History exam is mostly theory based and we get 3 hours for that. I would like to suggest some improvements in particular in my course the use of some modern techniques like Smartboard, PPTs, and regular field trips to understand archaeologists. In terms of real-world applications or further pursuits, LSR would be a better option but again this needs some improvement in various fields including history-specific opportunities and teaching methods.

Campus life is a lil boring. Although events keep happening. Since its a girls college, a lot of the times these events are so quiete and bland. A lot of the times when i enter the college i feel extreme silence as if no one is inside. Plus since jmc is located in the diplomatic area, there are no nearby places you can hangout unlike in many other colleges. For every lit thing, you gotta go to satyaniketan. Societies are a huge part of jmc. They are taken cery seriously. We have societies like dance, music, green, lgbtq, north eastern, economics, management etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

So there are two semesters each year. Before each semester there are internals which include CA and IA. Its actually pretty rigorous. There are no set dates as to when they would take place therefore it feels like you are stuck on just taking exams and submitting projects the entire sem. Curriculum is fine. With the NEP, no. of subjects are increased to 7 for each course as AEC, VAC, SEC are added now, making it a lil hectic tbh.

Ques. What are the criteria for getting into Presidency University, Kolkata, in History (Hons.)?

● Top Answer By Abhilash Roy on 23 Jun 21

Ans. If Presidency University Kolkata is your dream college then you must have a solid academic record. Your board exam marks matter a lot. But entrance exam scores will be highly emphasized. You will be asked about the recent developments in the field along with the questions related to class 11th and 12th. Go through R.G Collingwood, Ideas of history, and Glean information from graduate-level books like R.S Sharma, Sumit Sarkar, and Shekar Banerjee. Having knowledge of post-modern theories like subaltern, queer theory, and genocide concepts will come in handy. Be up-to-date with all these concepts. Another key factor here is your English language skills. You are supposed to write the paper in English. Be careful of what you write and try to make it as thoughtful and transparent as possible. Try to be on point and avoid making convoluted sentences. If you check all the above-mentioned factors, it's almost certain that you will get into Presidency University Kolkata.Read more

Ques. Which college should I choose for History (hons) Dyal Singh College or Delhi College of Arts and Commerce?

● Top Answer By Swati Arora, on 25 Nov 21

Ans. It is suggested that you go for Delhi College of Arts and Commerce (DCAC) rather than Dyal Singh College (DSC). Here are some reasons why: If you want a college with better infrastructure and canteen opt for DSC.  On the other hand DCAC provides excellent Extra-curricular activities, societies, clubs, placements and overall exposure. The faculty of both the colleges are good. DSC is better in B.A subjects but not economics. DCAC has better connectivity. It is near to metro stations on the yellow line and pink line. Whereas DSC is only close to JLN stadium metro station on the violet line. Neither of the two colleges offer hostel facilities.  But it is easier to find accommodation near DCAC than to DSC. Accommodation near DCAC is also affordable. Therefore overall DCAC is a much better choice. But in the end it depends on individual preference. Try visiting both the colleges, explore, talk to the alumni or faculty members, if possible and then take the decision.Read more

● Top Answer By Adrita Bose on 28 Dec 21

Ans. It will depend on the cut-off marks as set up by the college. It differs from year to year. If you score above 85 your chances of getting selected in the first round will be easier.  Later it will gradually drop down to 75-80. This will also vary among students of reserved and unreserved categories. Students belonging to reserved categories might require a lower score like 70-75, which can drop down to 60-65, depending on the course and the college’s set cut off.Read more
