The college of agriculture Padannakkad, was started in the year 1994, situated in Kasaragod, the northern-most district of Kerala. The college of agriculture is the third agricultural college under the Faculty of Agriculture of the Kerala Agricultural University. Since inception it has envisioned a wide range of improvement and development in academics, research and extension needs of the Northern zone of Kerala. The vision of institution is to focus on agro economical situation based research, education and extension and to serve as a knowledge centre for achieving food security, water security and environmental safety. The primary mission of the College of Agriculture, Padannakkad are imparting of education, advancement of learning, promoting research and undertaking extension education programs in agriculture and allied subjects.

College of Agriculture Padannakkad is the 1st Agriculture College in Northern Kerala. It is situated in a small village called Padannakkad, Nileswar. Both Nileswar and Kanjangad railway stations are close to the campus so that transportation facilities are appreciable. It is a small beautiful campus with an ambient study atmosphere. Field visits, which are the backbone of practical experiences, especially for a practical oriented course like agriculture, are conducted frequently by the college authority which helps the students to mold themselves as experienced agriculture professionals. The admission is conducted by the NEET examination as well as a national level entrance examination for agriculture organized by ICAR. Student-friendly campus, a sufficient number of professors, etc are the peculiarities of this beautiful campus. Extracurricular activities are also encouraged. Since we are a group of 98 in our batch, I think there is not enough facilities for such a bulk group including transportation and labs. The teachers really dedicated, kind, and free to talk whenever we need a help. The college has a beautiful and lively campus
Atmosphere is very suitable for over studies and it's economical friendly. ATM facilities are not there within the college is the only negative opinion. After all our college and our course is the best
