My college experience

Remarks :

College of Agriculture Padannakkad is the 1st Agriculture College in Northern Kerala. It is situated in a small village called Padannakkad, Nileswar. Both Nileswar and Kanjangad railway stations are close to the campus so that transportation facilities are appreciable. It is a small beautiful campus with an ambient study atmosphere. Field visits, which are the backbone of practical experiences, especially for a practical oriented course like agriculture, are conducted frequently by the college authority which helps the students to mold themselves as experienced agriculture professionals. The admission is conducted by the NEET examination as well as a national level entrance examination for agriculture organized by ICAR. Student-friendly campus, a sufficient number of professors, etc are the peculiarities of this beautiful campus. Extracurricular activities are also encouraged. Course Curriculum Overview :

BSc agriculture is a course with high job opportunities in India as well as aboard. The food sector is fast growing day by day. So in order to promote agriculture throughout the country and also for ensuring reasonable profit for the farmers who are the building hands of growing India, qualified and experienced agricultural professionals are required. The college is having enough teachers, the majority of them are having doctoral degrees and a number of years of experience too. A few of the guest lecturers are also there. They are also having a PhD or Masters and NET. All the teachers are student-friendly. All the portions are being covered before the examination. Before the university examination, one quiz and a 2nd term examination are also being conducted in the college. All the subjects are being taught along with practical classes. An adequate number of field visits ate also conducted to improve the field knowledge and also to make an opportunity for the students to interact with the experienced farmers.

Internships Opportunities :

OISCA international, oyster opera, food corporation of India, etc are the firms in which some training are given

Placement Experience :

Employability - after the BSc agriculture course, a lot of job opportunities are waiting for th3 successful candidates. They are agriculture officers in krishibhavans, farm officers in agricultural farms, universities, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, specialist officers in a different nationalized bank, agriculture insurance companies, all India radio, as a teacher in vocational higher secondary schools, etc

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee structure is actually decided by govt authority. As it is a govt college and admission is purely on merit basis, the fee is also reliable to people from all economic categories. Approximately 10000 is the semester fee. Hostel facilities are also available inside the campus separately for boys and girls. As the hostels are run by the government, no hostel fee for the students, but we have to pay only the charge of food and that too comes below 2500 per month. A number of scholarships are also available for the students. For the students who belong to sc, st and obc, the minority scholarships are available. Marantz are distributed among the students who are from financially backward families. Minority scholarships such as the CH Muhammed Koya scholarship, wakf board scholarship are also available for the eligible students. The only thing is that students have to score good marks, then the college will support in their studies. The internship in 4th year has a stipend

Campus Life :

The campus life was a beautiful and memorable one. The college is giving equal importance to extracurricular activities also. Every year, in the month of march a MANGO FEST is being conducted on the campus and an exhibition and sale of a wide variety of mangoes, seedlings, etc. The college has an extraordinary library too rich in books, both study-oriented as well as entertaining. Athletics and sports are also being conducted every year.

Hostel Facilities :

The college has its own hostel facility separate for boys and girls. It has a new building. The ladies hostel is thejaswini and the men's hostel is Chandragiri. Both are clean and tidy. The meal is also good. Separate menu for each day. The admission to the hostel is done at the time of admission to the college.

Interview Experience :

The admission is purely on merit basis. The admission of students is carried out by either NEET or national level entrance examination for agriculture by ICAR. I prepared for the entrance examination from a coaching institute. I spent one year on it
