TOMS College of Engineering and Polytechnic is a Kerala-based top-notch Engineering college that came into existence in 1988 and offers excellent education through a wide range of Undergraduate and Diploma courses in the discipline of Engineering. The institute is managed by Thirunilam Educational Trust, approved by AICTE and affiliated to APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University which was earlier called Kerala Technological University. The admission process at TOMS College of Engineering and Polytechnic takes place in both online as well as offline modes and candidates need to go through a set of steps to apply for the course of their choice. Also, it is worth to be noted that 50% of seats of Undergraduate and Diploma courses are kept reserved for the Government quota, the allocation for which is carried out by the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations (CEE), Govt. of Kerala. - Teaching is very good and efficient. Provide proper notes.
- Conduct special classes for labs and make the students to complete all the lab topics before examination.
Dislikes
- Over strictness. The class duration is 2 hours it is so hard to listen carefully .
- Some of the teachers were have only Btech eligibility than M tech and some teachers can't even teach properly.
Admission:
There is an entrance test for Engineering in Kerala. But those who didn't qualify for that exam can also get admission to this college. Reservation is for special category students and they get it. I didn't get any. Students can directly go to the office with the help of HODs we can apply for admission and we can earn admission. In my opinion they should conduct a simple entrance test for their admission process

Our course curriculum is well managed and is according to the approval of aitec. It's a 4 year course and we have total 8 semester. I college have regular pratical classes and theory classes are also good. We have many personality development classes. Lab sessions of our college are very fruitful.

The course is divided into 8 semester. As chemical engineering we have more lab classes and they are very important for us and they are even helpful.

In this 4 year course a student is expected to focus on the core objective is to mould out in being high potential aeronautical engineers who could fit into the growing needs of the industry with it’s curriculum. It focuses on the design and development as well as the science and technology behind the forces and physical attributes of Aircraft, Rocket propulsion systems and even Space crafts. It also houses studies and researches on Aerodynamic theories, development and researches on Aircraft Structures, analysis of Flight Mechanics, types of Propulsion systems, Aviation Control System as well as Aircraft Maintenance strategies.The college even provides it’s own Learjet 25B heavy aircraft and cessna 150 light aeroplane to students for practical’s. This helps the student in getting 360 degree knowledge of the subject.

The university was ranked 6th in APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University in 2017 and again ranked 2nd among private engineering colleges in 2017. The college is equipped with the best of infrastructure and amenities to support an overall education of the students.
