WCC Admission Process 2025

The admission procedure at WCC follows a merit-based selection process, with applicants categorized under various groups as per the Tamil Nadu Government's norms (Open category, BC, MBC, DNC, SC, ST). Eligible candidates are first sorted by merit and sent to the respective departments for review. Each department then selects candidates based on their category and merit and forwards the list to a Scrutiny Committee for further validation. This committee, comprising 3 to 4 senior faculty members from different departments, verifies the authenticity and eligibility of applicants before recommending them to the Admission Officers.

After this, the admission list is reviewed, and the selected candidates’ names are published on the online portal. Candidates are also notified via SMS and email. The provisional selection notice can be downloaded from the candidate’s login on the college website. If the admission fee is not paid online by the specified deadline, the seat will be forfeited and allocated to candidates in the subsequent list. Finally, students must report on the registration date with the required documents for certificate verification, as outlined in the provisional selection notice.

WCC Application Process 2025

Candidates who wish to pursue any of the courses available in the college can apply for the same online. No forms will be sold on campus. Here is the detailed procedure and the steps to apply:

• Visit the official website of ‘Women’s Christian College, Chennai’.

• Click on ‘Admissions’ and then on ‘Online Application’.

• Click on ‘Online Registration’.

• Enter all the details correctly in the Registration form.

• The following documents are required to be uploaded:

  1. Passport-size photograph

  2. Mark-sheet

  3. Student’s signature

  4. Parent’s signature

  5. Community Certificate

• Pay an application fee of INR 200 for UG courses (INR 250 for PG programs and INR 300 for M. Phil course) through Credit/ Debit Card/ Net Banking. An additional INR 150 has to be paid as Hostel charges.

• Click on the ‘Submit’ button. On clicking, the duly filled application form will appear on the screen.

• Download and take a printout of the duly filled application form and keep it for future reference

As per Nargis Begum, a B.Com General student at Women's Christian College (WCC), the admission process requires applicants to be commerce students with a minimum of 60% in their 12th board exams. The application form is available on the college’s official website, with an application fee of INR 100.

According to Nargis, the exams are generally easy and follow the syllabus provided by the college. However, she feels that the current online-only admission process can be quite anxious for candidates, as they often have to wait for a confirmation email and remain uncertain about their admission status.
